  • When I was 10 in 1984 I always thought this game was about the '84 Olympics in LA :)

  • if you used the old coleco vision controller you just had to push one of the numbers and he would run full speed

  • Your shotput is weak, I cleared the third line with ease on a regular basis

  • This Game wrecked my first joystick in 1985

  • And so the word button basher was born !

  • 2.4m in high jump, how did you do that? I never managed that as a kid. :-O

  • I got my c64 & this game on xmas day 1984. After about an hour i wrecked my c64 joystick. So i bought quickshot 2, a quality joystick.

  • great time playing this with my bro

  • I remember this on atari 2600

  • The shot put looks so hilarious.

  • this game is amazing when played with dancemat

  • 11127 pts? AWESOME. I thought I were the king because I was the only one among my friends who ever got more than 10000 pts. ... back in these days I was not aware that there is something as TwinGalaxies :)

According current No one on PAL I was not bad

  • and my right hand, too :D

  • i destroyed 2 joysticks :D

  • Well I never my broke a joystick on this one, because I bought some really expensive ones. And they held on pretty well, although I always had to clean the switches after I played this game. Tough game on the arm and muscles though.

The other thing about this video, that in all of 20 years I could never jump 2.4m in the high jump, so well done mate!

But in the pole vault you failed, lol.

11000+ points. Great achievement! I've done it as well. Very-very hard to do it.

    Great memories!

  • I got this "soundtrack" in my head for almost 20 years now and still love it !!! ... and i killed 2 Joysticks ! ... ;)

  • i almost wept when i saw this game and realised for the 1st time what a great machine the c64 was, i was thirteen at the time?

  • Nice game.I still remember a trick for all the events that require running:If you waggle the joystick lever round and round instead of left & right, you can get fantastic times.Try it.

  • i remember

  • so ein gewaltiges spiel mit sehr schmerzhaften erinnerungen *gg*

  • Blisters, broken joysticks, massive frustration, but we have no regrets - thems were GOOD TIMES!

  • Yeah, I also lost a few joysticks to this game.

  • same here!

  • man, 't is game ruined/cost me at least 10 joysticks :D

  • 400 metres was the best competition - once my joystick was broken - he pult right by himself - so i run 9.36 at 100m

  • i love all the comments about the 1500. swap hands on the joystick after every 300 metres or so. fuck it was hard work but a pure joy to play

  • Fun game I kept going back to much to the agony of my hands!

  • the atari joystick was excellent for this game... ^^

  • Der Joystickkiller schlechthin. Alles bis auf den Competition Pro ist in kürzester Zeit verreckt ^^

  • Bei mir nie.. Und ich hab das Excesiev gezockt! xD

  • So was this before or after Daley Thompsons name was stuck on the front of the box?

  • unforgettable

  • Unforgettable 1500 metres run. Ooohhh ... At the mere thought of this my hand is about to ache me :). 5 stars for video :).

  • What about the blisters then? I ca remember the pain still

  • Unforgettable

  • I broke 4 TAC-2 joysticks back in the day!

  • Should have had a Quickshot 2 with the turbo button!!

  • I destroyed 3 joysticks on this game, LOL!

  • @pekstu I destroyed my hands :D

  • @pekstu lol my father hated it when I played Decathlon because of that. :D
