Class players and a very neat performance, if only a little too fast and sunny to do justice to the gravity of this g minor work, in my opinion -- particularly noticeable in the opening bars and around 3:10. But the spiccato near 5:20 is excellently synchronized. One of the towering works in chamber music literature, pouring with grief like Dvorak's trio no. 3 and Brahms's piano quartet no. 3.
@1discipulo Pues, así como se indica al cliquear el título del programa, los que tocan se llaman : Susanna Yoko Henkel (violin), Monika Leskovar (cello) and Milana Chernyavska (piano) perform Bedrich Smetana's P...
Tu pregunta pudiera haber sido: "What are the names of the players?"

Anyone else see the scary resemblance to the virtuoso part in Brahms's piano quintet, 4th movement? The first few notes in the violin's solo are like exactly the same.
I can only say: Thank you! A superb, dramatic and lyrical performance, most satisfyingly filmed. It is a privilege to be able to listen and watch over again, with and without looking at the printed music..
Amazing. I played it in my last year of college in a room full of school kids. Bow shakes set in half way through the first movement and I've never shifted them. Suffice to say, 20 years on, no longer a violinist.
wow I'm not sure why but I was continually fascinated with the cellist throughout this video! It's great to so the cellist steal the spotlight in a piano trio for once!! I play violin myself and am actually playing this piece with a group right now and one of the things I love about it is the juicy cello part. I've never heard of Monika Leskovar but I'm very impressed. The pianist and violinist were good too but I really felt the cellist stole the show. Great performance!

Brahms wrote his piano quintet in 1865, Smetana wrote it in 1855.......
For me is Smetanas work absolutely peerless.
