O wait, you mean all those years I've been doing the Disco Dork, that when the hardcore guys were staring open mouthed at me that it wasn't in awe? Who knew?
personally i stopped doing bicep curls because i couldnt feel a thing when i was doing them so i use a bar instead but i might try them and make sure im doing them absolutley correct, maybe i was a disco dork haha. cheers scooby. :)
yay my posture was right :) but i have 1 question. when i do curls the dumbbell starts in the hammer curl position and as i curl it up i twist it into a normal curl. is that okay?
well i ain't gonna lie i tend to swing a lot of the time, my arms are 17.5 inches natural but every word what you say is so true, no one on youtube explains stuff better then you, you must have helped a lot of people out scooby, very nice video once again
just had a question about supplements this was on a a muscle fitness article a while back for a pre-workout shake consisting whey protein, glutamine powder,Larginine powder, bcaa powder , and beta alanine. So wondering if this is good to take ? normally i just mix and drink whey and creatine thanks
your funny antics and silly hat make your videos quite funny, doesn't hurt that you speak perfect sense either. i've just started working out and find your videos very helpful. cheers a bunch, mate. :)
wow you over exaggerated everyone of those. drop the comedic stuff please scooby.ARE you trying to teach us how to better ourselves? Or just trying to get some laughs?
a little body english is a tool if you use it right. Super strict form is good for beginners to avoid injury but pro bodybuilders for example rarely use such stiff movements.
I've been working out for 7 years, with a lot of noticeable muscle gain and no injuries, but I have just realized that I have a very slight case of Disco Dork.
would these proper ways to do the dumbel curls work for someone whos literally a
" stick ". I weigh 129, im 14, im extremely skinny, but sorta tall. Please, tell me how to build arms and abdominals. Please, don't ignore me, i need your help. YOUR MY HERO!..
@Softingwithair If you really want help, you need to workout your whole body not just arms and abs for the girls, your obviously not serious about lifting, and no one wants to help someone that wants to do bench and curls.
some of this rly is common sense once you work out enough and figure out how your muscles behave ,youd be surprise howmany people actually try and cheat themselves just to look good..i do light weights and people look at me like im crazy,we get on the bench press and im throwing more weight up than they are, love your vids scooby! great instructional vids
this bum yaps more than he does....10 mins video with 9 minutes wasting time...better spend 30 seconds n show whts the rite form - he needs work out for his brains.
@Prakash5529 well hes telling you what to avoid doing which is using too much weight and then relying on momentum etc to move weights around, and putting emphasis on a muscle group you want to work out to build that particular muscle up insted of spreading it to multiple groups to make it easier, most of its common sense yet people still do it wrong...theirs like 1 million ways to work your biceps, why show you how.. takes the fun out of it
Great video Scooby! I see this a lot at the gym, and it's easy to do it when the weight is too much and you're just looking to finish the set. Then it's better to decrease the number of repetitions, but do each one properly.
This guy is a perfect example of why you dont use steroids. Rubbery skin, overly vascular (joints of fore arms, arm pit area), Really sqeaky voice, sounds like puberty. lol
@OKPatriot92 He doesnt use Steroids. He uses a strict nutrition regime and scientific training. He avoids fats in his diet so there is nothing to cover the veins. Steroids dont do that, bodybuilding does that. Steroids have opposite effect on voice also. Lol... you know very little about steroids.
Haha, this was the funniest video I've seen all week, and I usually only watch comedy vids. Trying to build up a bit of beef before I start rugby up again, I should probly work on legs but arms seem so much easier......
hi scooby.. im a student i dont have time to workout everyday.i only have time to workout on the weekends what should i eat to maintain my body ..vegetable??protein powder??? BTW im17 6feet tall and 145ibs
scooby, I'm 15, 6'4, and weigh about 160. Sort of slim and i play basketball. My workout consists of tricep dips ( 5 sets of 8 ) and normal pushups ( 5 sets of 10 ), then those chest pushups you did in your video (5 sets of 10 ) I can do about 20-25 pushups perfect form without stopping so i wondered if i should start on the dumbbells now. I was going to get an 8pound medicine ball for my basketball workout and i wanted to get two 20pound dumbbells. I also need a dumbell tricep workout
Hi Scooby. Love your videos. Just wondering, the full range of motion and slow pace should be practiced through pretty much all weight lifting regimes? Thanks, your Aussie fan.
Hahaha funny vid. But damn Im glad ive been doing the correct form even when im very little informed about proper workout techniques. I discovered using the right form because I experimented until I actually felt all the burn go to my biceps. It's kind of common sense really, I dont understand how some people dont do it right. Keep back straight, elbows in place, and full curl motion. Some people dont think so much I guess.
Nice, got a question though: where you show the proper way, how about when the dumbell is up to the highest point and then you move your elbow slightly forward, to get like an extra "oumph" out?
As a member of the Army, i was wondering if you could create a workout that integrates the bodybuilding aspect into the military workout? Ive been searching for a way to work them both into a hardcore workout.. thanks and Ive been following your videos for about three years...keep up the good work
I am having a problem with my bicep workouts. The Problem is that every time i do an arm routine I feel only a small pump, despite that i work out hard with maximum weight with good form, but the next day when i wake up (I make sure i get enough protein during the day) I never feel any soreness, as I usually do after an workout. It means that I am starting to doubt my bicep development. Can you help? I do lots of different exercises.
@jegvilflag Not being sore in your biceps area is actual due to how often you use your biceps muscles in everyday life. If you work out steadily for for a few months you will start to notice in other muscle regions that you won't become as sore as your training progresses. Also the best way that I get pumps in the biceps is by doing concentration curls. This is an excellent exercise and purest way to isolate the muscle.
@jegvilflag Try this, I don't recommend it really to anybody but I do know what you mean. When i first starting working out I got huge pumps in my biceps. Recently I do not get huge pumps, if it's that there are many things you can do.....Use an E-Z curl bar and put normal weight on but when you "curl" instead of curling keep the bar close to your abdomen until you get to your chest, then curl towards your face, then bring it back down as if you were doing your normal curl.
I saw 2 of these forms in the gym this morning. I didn't laugh at them out loud because I don't like to discourage people who are at least putting an effort forth to better health. But I sure was laughing on the inside.
I watched this the other day and though it was a bit over the top, but I swear to god, this past week I have seen people doing this. Actually.....I think it's the same person every time. Just grabbing massive dumbells and swinging them back and forth. Seriously, if you do that surely you KNOW you're doing something wrong? Surely it feels uncomfortable? I feel like saying something but I'd be wasting my time. He's one of them Biceps 5x a week guy. New years resolution probably. He'll leave soon!
LOL...LOVE the facial expressions in the "Bad Form" section. I swear, I see each of those everytime I go to the gym. Makes me wonder if those guys actually go home and do a real workout. One actually said I was doing it wrong then proceeded to show me HIS "proper form"..."Pogo Stick" I believe it was. LMAO
Hi scooby! I have a question, and I would be glad if you answered me.I have a shoulder injury, and it has kept me from exercising about 3 weeks now.I absolutely love exercising, and having the injury is very frustrating. Can you please tell me how to bypass my injury so I would be able to exercise without risking my shoulder?
dude scoobs, love the videos but they are getting longer and longer...you could make 3 or 4 min video without all the dramatics...keep up the good work man!
I see you extend your arms all the back till the point where you even lightly flex your triceps. I had been thought that you always should keep a small kurve when you go back to keep tension and increase pump. Do you have any word's on this?
@joeldrums19 if you can do 12 reps with good form, its ideal, then try 10 reps on a slightly heavier with good for, when you can do 12 reps its too light
@sangolt88 no, my gaydar just went off when i heard how he talks. i've always lifted weights correctly, it goes with playing football at a university.
@bbender1986 does it matter if he is gay? Honestly its people like you stop people having the confidence to post on youtube, and secondyly I doubt you'll look anywhere near as good as scooby when your 49? Nahh, you wont, because you'll be sat trolling youtube to make your fat ass feel better about having that burger
Hey hey hey dude, um... I'm fourteen and a half, and I'm training with 25 pounds dumbbells, should i reduce the weight or increase? 'cause i'm training properly, approximately within one and a half day recovering.
@masteradnin Obviously I'm not scooby but preacher curls are my favourite exercise. It's also a good exercise for novices as it's much harder to cheat form. Preachers isolate the bicep more than any other bicep exercise.
lol i just started watching your videos, and you sir are preety funny. I know exactly what you're talking about and I always shake my head when I see people moving their whole body when they do curls and I think why they even bother.
I hate all these damn showoffs and toolbags at the gym. Especially the people who dress just to try to show off their muscles, and a lot of them have chicken stick legs too, so damn funny.
but, depending on the weight you curl, you body may rock due to its weight and your own, if you are falling forward because the weight is making you loose balance try and lean back a little to begin with, yes or no, thats my opinion,
O wait, you mean all those years I've been doing the Disco Dork, that when the hardcore guys were staring open mouthed at me that it wasn't in awe? Who knew?

I see you extend your arms all the back till the point where you even lightly flex your triceps. I had been thought that you always should keep a small kurve when you go back to keep tension and increase pump. Do you have any word's on this?
good luck cycling.

I have a question about weights. How do you know if the weight is to heavy for you? Since I'm a beginner I actully have no clue... :s
joeldrums19 1 year ago
@joeldrums19 if you can do 12 reps with good form, its ideal, then try 10 reps on a slightly heavier with good for, when you can do 12 reps its too light

bbender1986 1 year ago
@bbender1986 does it matter if he is gay? Honestly its people like you stop people having the confidence to post on youtube, and secondyly I doubt you'll look anywhere near as good as scooby when your 49? Nahh, you wont, because you'll be sat trolling youtube to make your fat ass feel better about having that burger

Hey hey hey dude, um... I'm fourteen and a half, and I'm training with 25 pounds dumbbells, should i reduce the weight or increase? 'cause i'm training properly, approximately within one and a half day recovering.

Scooby, what about the curls people do sitting down with their elbows nestled in beside their knee?
AdamMichelPeterSaab 1 year ago
Scooby, what is your opinion on Preacher Curls?
masteradnin 1 year ago
@masteradnin Obviously I'm not scooby but preacher curls are my favourite exercise. It's also a good exercise for novices as it's much harder to cheat form. Preachers isolate the bicep more than any other bicep exercise.
MaratSafinVideos 1 year ago
@MaratSafinVideos I agree. I love doing them with both, dumbbells and a barbell.

lol i just started watching your videos, and you sir are preety funny.

MaicoMoon 1 year ago
but, depending on the weight you curl, you body may rock due to its weight and your own, if you are falling forward because the weight is making you loose balance try and lean back a little to begin with, yes or no, thats my opinion,
