Affects the T40, T41, T42 and some other models. Good laptop but expensive fix if it goes wrong - either a motherboard replacement OR specialist reflow.
Excellent laptops but with one design fault - chassis flex ! Over a long period of time - maybe 2,3,4 years depending on frequency of use the heatsink on the ATI graphics chip will start to either overheat or require a reflow - meaning resoldering. All related to frequently picking up the laptop with both hands from the palm rest !
