The Afghan people actually get to choose and build the projects, with outside help. The programs mentioned in the video had enormous positive effects in Afghanistan, on the condition women especially. Also, the WB here operates by direct, permanent grants, not loans. So no interest rates and no extortion.

The World Bank is what causes poverty in the world. This bank is run by the former colonial powers that force people to pay high interest rates and devastates economies by forcing them to invest in dead end programs. World Bank = colonization.
