  • y is every 1 thinking white dudes and chicks should hav dreads . here in nz iv real only seen them with dreads i got dreads and im white but didnt get sht for it

  • Wow why would anybody black need info from this white lady talking bout dreads. WoW

  • Peter Griffin got dreads.

  • Is that a man or a woman?

  • @LilacStar82 That's Peter Griffin.

  • @nextgenvids LMAO

  • is that a girl or a boy?

  • "the more you play with them, the better" o.o"

  • Actually sleeping is one of the best ways to make 'em dread further, and tigthen them (at least if there isn't wax in, wouldn't know if it's the same if you greased 'em up :P)

  • once you twist and rip can you do it again or what u recomend? im new to dreads and stuff lol

  • just stop combing your hair you don't need wax or to do anything really, besides maintained look silly when they are to perfect, natural all the way, sleeping is the best way to knot up your dreads! wax will be stuck in your hair for years

  • just stop combing your hair you don't need wax or to do anything really, besides maintained look silly when they are to perfect, natural all the way, sleeping is the best way to knot up your dreads!

  • I use wax every 3 days after my shower and my dreads took about 3 weeks to completely lock. Wax is optional but speeds up the procedure of dreadlocks... Its really about what YOU want. Stop recomending not to use wax, its stupid.

  • @vitorcui ur locks definitely did not lock up after three weeks, it takes at least 6 months. wax makes them look locked, but if you could remove the wax, u'd still have baby dreads! someone played u...

  • AWESOME VIDEO

    fuck the haters

  • dude, this was very helpful! thanks:] sorry about all the negative comments from others. they have too much time on there hands.

  • Wax and pantyhose. /facepalm

    No.

  • Word! no wax! This chick is a nimrod, im sorry. but how bouta lil more about maintenance. Crochet hook works to maintain. how bout what to wash with, like dr. bronn's. and further more coulda mentioned it's good to put them in a beanie. hope that I was more helpful than this vid.

  • Just because she's had dreads for four years she's an expert? Who determines experts? This is retarded. Wtf, great, lets just keep promoting the dread wax myth. It does NOT make them look better or lock better. It's the worst thing to do to your dreads. Take this video DOWN.

  • @beccaisthepoppet

I don't know if you've noticed, but "expert"village tends to have many videos that portray "experts" who don't actually know much. Not that I think she doesn't know anything, I just think that expert village isn't great to begin with. As a side note, I believe that however people want to dread their hair is up to them, and whatever works for them is what they should do. That's only my opinion, however.

  • WHITE PEOPLE use the WAX for YALL,black just dont do it if u do yo dreads will be a disgrace

  • DO NOT USE WAX GUYS

IGNORE WHALES WHO RECOMMEND WAX AT ALL COST

  • how often should i clean my hair

  • NO WAX EVER!!!

  • CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT....

some lady did my dreads and she told me to palm roll to the "left"

i have no idea what she means because palm rolling is ment to be back and forth right? wtf is left?

  • b4 all the cemical crap came out people use to use bee's wax on the to hold them together

  • your dreads look really good -how are they these days ?

  • nonononononononNOO twistedbutterfly is right DO NOT use wax.how did people have dreads a thousand years ago?without wax chemical crap.dont listen to her wax is bad for the hair.its gets your dreads nasty gooey and dirty.just do it the all natural way :)

  • So u cud wash yo hair with a stockin cap on

  • Hahah Eat Woman And Dreadssss ...

    bleahhhh

  • DO NOT EVER USE WAX!!!!! I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS EVEN A HAIR STYLIST LIKE HER! no matter how much they talk it up and say all kind of snazzy things about the wax and that its a HUGE NO NO! u can make amazing, lost lasting dreads without the wax and starter kit. get a comb or brush of ur liking that is good for backcombing (teasing) and maybe a crochet hook if u want to incorporate the ends. u can also cut the tips off or roll them up into a knot. but again please please please no wax! :)

  • You don't have to use wax if you take care of them properly!

  • dunt eat muh dreadz!

  • how do i keep the roots dreaded? I have had them for a few days and each morning they are coming out at the root..what can i put in them?

  • @bufaluKK palm rolling isn't advisable for kinky (black) hair.. in the beginning... twisting worked for me. You can resort to palm rolling once its locked.

  • dude chill lol you can do em several ways its just about what helps you most.

  • dreadlocks are natural. You dont need all this chemical crap for them. Everyone dont listen her, she doesnt know what she on about. And maybe you should stop making bullshit videos and misinforming people! get on the treadmill you fat bitch!!

  • im getting dreads and my hair is 4 and a half inches long how small will my dreads be?

  • Thanks, expert! Your videos are really helpful!

  • will a hair dresser do dreads?

  • With respect, go train so u not fat. Thanks for the info...

  • Lol, @ everyone, you are seriously ill-informed.

  • WOW, the worst video about dreadlocks I have ever seen. COMPLETELY FALSE IN EVERY WAY. Ddreadlocks are NATURAL. WOW....

  • you do all that cause its not your natural hair!

  • haha

  • What are you talking about?

    Neglected dreadlocks are the original

way to lock, you don't have to do a thing to

them, and dreadwax is fucking terrible..

Check out my locks.. No products no bullshit...

    fail video..

  • @MYSTiK13

amen man. neglect is the way to get dreads. i'm about one year into my journey

  • NEVER put wax in your dreads. Someone put some in mine once. Took ages to get it out. You will have candles stuck to your head if you keep applying it, not real dreads. This video is wrong do not listen to someone who thinks salon dreads are a good idea.

  • amen

  • @jesperious true never have used it

  • seriously all the fat jokes is ignorant get a life children

  • can you eat less?

  • we'll see her towing her fat ass around walmart soon lmao

  • What? If she will give the same atention to do sport and eat less as she gives to maintain her dreadlocks,,,,

  • you look like that fuckin actor from lost haha

  • hahah your suppose to be an expert but ur telling people to put wax in there dreads. that is false waxs fucks up your dreads. dont ever put wax in your hair it just builds up in your hair. cut a dread off and look at the build up in there

  • no troll, putting too much wax in your head is bad, your suppose to have common sense, only a tiny bit of wax for each dread, and this is done once every 2 weeks, WASH OUT COMPLETELY WITH A RESIDUE FREE SHAMPOO, it will lock it up even more since the wax was holding it together good, then do it again, once every 2 weeks, and only a tiny bit, AND NO BEESWAX, that leaves buildup, use good wax, like jamaican mango and lime lcoking creme wax, or the lcoking gel

  • @killadub234 YEAH locking jell is what you need not wax.....locking jell comes out of the dreads as soon as a little bit of water touches it.....i used it for the first 4 mounths of having dreads....mango and lime smells orgasmic too

  • @killadub234 I got my hair dreaded last Sat. Its been 7 days. I bought dread shampoo and conditioner. Do I wash the wax out of the dreads completely and then rewax each dread after i shampoo, and when should I shampoo.Should I wait another week? or should i do it now that its already been a week ? Thanks

  • @ACDCjr123 even though im not da lady in da video..............you shouldnt wash your hair until it locks up ...........dreads last saturday years old will get loose if you wash it so soon

  • i've got dreadlocks for like 8 months....you don't have to do anythig to your hair..i mean i haven't done anthing and they look ok to me...i recomend to do NOTHING to have great dreads..:)

  • i got dreadlocks they are only a few weeks old i was told swimming is the best thing for baby locks (new dreadlocks) is that true wat do you think

  • swimming in the OCEAN! the sea salt is what helps lock up your dreads.

  • it is true if you dunk your head in the ocean you're half way there. as the salt water helps your hair tighten and dread up.

  • palm rolling doesnt facilitate locking. Only nature does. Expert village blows.

  • palm rolling does facilitate locking

  • palm rolling keeps the hair in place...it does not facilitate locking. It makes it LOOK locked, but it does not mean it's locked.

  • My loctician uses the palmrolling method on my locs, and has done so for the past two years and my hair is locked....

  • a loc is matted hair. Hair does not matt from palmrolling. Hair matts from not being combed.

  • i wanna see them close up

  • u will see a BUNCH of white people sayin they got dreads by doin nothin. 100% will have horrible crappy, lumpy, unkept dreads. It takes maintenence. i have them, but i take good care of mine.

  • actually those are the real dreads. the real rasta people grow their hair and let it take its course...its the people who decided to style it and part it that took it down a different route. but the real dreads are the ones that just grow on its own.

  • Similar to me, im now growing my dreads after just backcoming them and thats it, i use no products at all.... right now my hair is locked but it has alot of fuzz, but in time that will minimise and lock in with the dreads and mine look fine. Dont smell of mould either.

  • haha lol just lets your hair grow, use some wax for starting and ask some one to use the fine fork thingy and thats it lol

  • Pffft I got dreads from dothing nothing.

    Ignorant bitch..

  • i dont like your dreads that much

  • i have semi chin length hair on my sides, im forming 2 strands of dreads on my left side just in front of my ear. i will, however, eventually move on to doing my full head.

  • u dont ever wanna use wax.. wax is so bad for ur dreads

  • dreds look beter messy hers looked lyk she has fat plats

  • lol oh my god...i hate expert village

  • Maybe you can help me I have been wanting dreadlocks for a while now, but there is things I must know first do they smell bad even if you wash them I have been told they do and they don't but I'm unsure. I know all hair smells bad if you don't wash it, but since dreadlocks are dreaded together. Is it harder to clean or what. advice please.

  • :( I think wax should only be used on ocassion not every week ... bad

  • wena viejjjjja

  • wilt

  • lol

  • she doesnt look bad with her dreads

im not a chubby chaser but i think if you can get them to lock in you diserve to have them

  • gosh you people are horrible! shes just trying to help you out.

  • don't listen her or him! ;]

never use no wax, never wear nothing in shower or while sleeping ! just do nothing you wouldn't do to regular hair. let dem grow ,just no COMB!

  • i dont sleeep with a rag on my head, i find that the tossing and turning i did in my sleep made my hair lock faster, but wax isnt very good for your hair, well thats what i found, otherz may differ.

  • No they weren't. The first man was the black Ethiopian. Their hair would nat, thus giving them locks. White Europeans are the ancestors of the black man so in conclusion, the style was adopted by the white man. I can see you've been corrected several times at this stage so just accept the fact that it is a black hairstyle.

  • They didn't ADOPT it. ALL HAIR DREADS NATURALLY. You are so thick, African man cut his hair, colder climates would be the best place to let hair grow. Stop trying to take pride in something that just happens, as if it was yours or belonged to you things like this just cause problems.

  • Eh, I'm white

  • then what, are you just trolling? why do i even bother i said everything i needed to, including the fact that neanderthal, maybe even erectus had locks before modern man.

  • Troll off mate. People are merely expressing their opinion that it WAS the black man who pioneered the wearing of locks. FACT

  • You don't wear locks. Locks happen. That would be like saying the black man pioneered hair. Our ancestors had locks before us, our cousins had locks before us, they also had hair... This "expressing their opinion that it WAS the black man who pioneered the wearing of locks. FACT" is a contradiction. Opinion is not fact. Fact is the human animal is practical. You live in a hot climate, you cut your hair. You live in a cold climate you let it grow and get white skin.

  • While the first modern humans probably had locks for a period of time until they learned to cut their hair (unless that happened during erectus' time) they would have learned to cut it to manage heat. Europeans living in year-round cold-cool climates probably all let their hair grow and all would have formed locks. But I am just fucking repeating myself, I won't do it again.

  • kinky, course hair will loc in as little as 5 weeks, straighter less course hair will take about 2 years. normally white people need more help in matting their locs, whereas blacks usually simply stop combing their hair, many dont even need products. All hair locs eventually, but not at the same pace.

  • your so wrong ... no 1 can know who the first person who had dreads was man theres NO WAY... in the bible it talks about sampson have seven locks (thats what gave him his streangth)

as weel as jhon the baptist and many other people true rastafari believe that they decended from white nazerites dude get your facts strait before you blast someone for your ignorance.

    Peace~

  • beutiful dreads very good job and video

  • haha why does an add for stomach fat removal pop up

  • i love the way you talk as if you were there. it's great

  • What are you talking about?

  • read it again

  • egyptians had dreads.. check up your "facts" lol

  • I never said anything about Egyptians and them not having dreads. Neanderthal's reign was way before any Egyptian civilization. We're talking over 40 thousand years ago. Over 100 thousand years ago. Depending on individual cultures in small human populations some may of had dreads "Obviously there would be special cases" but European humans and Neanderthal would have the majority of the population with dreads, the hair is functional and not simply spiritual/cultural.

  • Damn she's fine.

  • LMFAO!!!

  • your like really really fat

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • FATASS

  • best results from palm rolling is to roll in one direction not back and forth

  • Bitch please your white your hair was not designed to lock. stop it please.

  • well said :)

  • i know wax is bad but you dont even have locks

    soo looks whos the bitch

  • what? yeah, i do have locks lol. This is my second set, shoulder length...

  • man i got mine like 3 days ago and i got a billion of them on my head ( they said it will lock easier if they are thin ) but they look like twits and some of them are starting untwist. need help please!

  • yes twists do come loose not as good as the braid twists to form dreads if there coming loose use some wax and re twists the or use some twist and lock hold gel

  • i'm using beeswax but i want to change for jamaican mango & lime. thanks :D

  • whos products last longer Knottyboy or dreadheadhq, message me ASAP if u know!(gonna order tonight)

  • whos products last the longest dreadheadhq or knotty boy?,does anyone know ?message me ASAP,as i gonna order today

  • daaaaammmnnnnn guurrrlll

your the fattest bitch i eva seen!!!

do yourself a favour and lose weight jabba!

i aint seen the movie whalerifer before, i dont ever need to now either! hahahahahaha

  • they do not Require work or wax. those are both simply options. wax being a very bad one that slows locking and causes nastiness inside the dread.

  • thx 4 d advice.

  • help me please!! you seem to know about locks, so just how long does it take for them to lock? why is it taking so long for my hair to grow? seems like every time i maintain them they get shorter, when are they going to stretch out and get longer? why must i have patience to wait this thing out for 1-3 years? will they look like dreads in 1-3 years or am i waisting my time? HELP PLEASE.

  • welll dreads take time if do not know that it takes about one year for the dreads to lock i had a problum in the begging with my dreads trying to lock up all dreads dont look the best in the first few months just give TIME!

  • i'm just starting my locks and am african american, but they have not locked yet and its been about a month and half. how long does it take for them to lock and how will i know they are locked? also i notice that in these beginning steps they sorta look fuzzy like little puffs, are they supposed to look fuzzy and when do they actually settle down to look tight and compact? should i rub them every day or should i just continue to wash them once a week and let them air dry or dry with a blowdryer

  • so are you not ment to wash them much? thats how you could get scalp conditions?

  • Thanks

  • dats gross

  • hey is it normal for the bottom of my roots to connect up with the pther roots and if not what should i do about it?

  • yes pull them apart once in awhile

  • Thanks for the info!

  • Im not sayin nothing lol

  • good job...being polite and all

  • why would you roll them both ways? They should only be palmed rolled one way in order to loc properly.

  • are u sure?

  • yes, very sure. My mom does locs.

  • Also mind that palmrolling tends to rip out some hair frm their roots, so if you do it to much your dreads will end up hanging in just a couple of strings of hair.

  • The name Dreadlocks actually has ties to the word dread. Something about if you had dreadlocks you were a dreadful man or had a dreadful life.

  • Actually it was the term white Europeans (god we're so great) gave to the Africans in relation to their dreads. When the white folk saw the locks they deemed them "DREADful". Hence the term, dreadlock. Lock is self explanatory I presume.

  • yeah, loc is less offensive, esprecially to the black person wearing them.

  • again why would you restrict the movement of the dreads? that doesn't help the locking process. if you use a proper residue free shampoo or dishsoap washing your dreads should TIGHTEN them. i would actually say that it's critically important to the locking process that you wash them correctly. not with pantyhose over them. if they can't stand up to a washing..don't wash them yet! and if you backcombed/rip&twisted/whatevered correctly they really should be able to stand a washing fairly quickly.

  • yo thanks for the tips, diggin ur dreads.

  • thanks--

this actually helped with my dreads

because knowing 6 months to lock up

    helped put things in perspective.

i've had my locks for over 6 months,

but i didn't take care of them, so...
