  • the snowflakes omg

  • Poor Edward during this song

  • wonderful!

  • It's like some sort of sombre New Orleans funeral procession... brilliant!

  • I play trombone, but not QUITE like that...

  • genius

  • this clarinet player is unreal

  • You've got such a piece of fucking art and you're fucking talking about fucking atari t fucking shirt.

  • but the clarinet player is so damn awesome !

  • sadly the old main trumpet player wasnt that up to playin an awesome radiohead song.... he kinda ruined it... but i guess its kind of unusual and hard to play..

  • @CivilianInRange That man was Humphrey lyttleton a well known british jazz player who was in his 80's at the time man, cut him some slack. The only reason this song exists is because Thom *asked* him to play, so that, plus the guy being dead going on 5 or so years, I think should get him a pass.

  • @CivilianInRange oh, you're the one.

  • Total masterpiece

  • I miss Humph.

  • thom is the best lyricist ever

  • thanks Jonny for writing this song!

  • Radiohead came on a stage so advanced! they do not do more songs. they make alternative states of mind.

  • Sick trumpet player! R.I.P.

  • massive goosebumps

  • This was vitriolic and ebullient.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson what do those words mean?

  • @teejay89656

I mean it is shallow and pedantic.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson

You made me read a dictionary. thankyou for that, it was just sitting there for all those years. lol

  • @sLAUGHTER115

    You're welcome. I am a Shit-Stained Genius!

  • Am Am7, E, E7 Cm, Gm...i luv you grampaaaah....

  • Perfect...all

    i love......

  • What i think is beautiful about this performance, is that it was Thom Yorke that wanted Humph on his song. It really shows that he, as well as the band have a great respect, as everyone else who had any connection with him had.

As well as him being one of the, if not the best English trumpet players we will ever likely see..

Oh yeh, and Radiohead are'nt half bad either.

  • Thom and the boys, with added Humph. Unforgettable.

  • i want to smoke everytime i hear this song.. i dont know why..

  • FUCK such a powerful song....

  • till the last day of my life i am goin to regret that i was born in india

  • @udaniya that's so cool? why do you regret of that?

  • @chavafuck its not cool indians only believe in working like dogs and feel proud about being a working class hero i wanna learn music i wanna play like greenwood and thom but no i have to work work work and die

  • @udaniya... well... we can change our lives for a while n.n

i'd love to travel to your continent. And dont give up, you can do anything you want to do in any place, luck!!

  • What happened at 1:40? It looks like the entire band went brain-dead for a second lol

  • genius, no one else could make this tune

  • masterpiece

  • Well of course I'd like to sit around and chat.

  • Wow this song gives me goosebumps, chills, everything a song could offer.

What's Ed O'Brien do on this track? Does he just sit this one out?

  • This is. ridiculously good.

  • GAH! trombones for the win!! oh and radiohead too ^_^

  • brilliant, seriously

  • This is such a great song. "Well of course I'd like to stay and chew the fat"

  • I love this band...and I'm only 3!! Much better than that barney and dora explorer stuff other kids of my generation listen to...

  • I love many Radiohead songs, but this one... i listen to it almost everyday at least once.

  • So freaking perfect! Anyone knows what Thom says at the end ? Is it only, lonely,...?

  • @jjysoserious but someone is listening

  • @jjysoserious

Well of course I'd like to sit here and chat

Only only only..... there's someone listening in

  • This sent chills down my spine.

  • I'm watching this for Humphrey Lyttelton

  • i do love king of limbs but i got it into my head it would have this songs fucking amazing hotsaxjazzy vibe.......ah well

  • IMO Amnesiac is an underrated album

  • Of course I'd like to stay and chew the fat with you, Thom

  • @sarahbearea Kid A is their best album, OK Computer is on par with it, people who say The Bends is their favourite aren't real Radiohead fans to be honest, they've came so much further then that

Saying that, it's still an absolutely brilliant album

  • Gênial..

  • Takes me back to the 1940s.

  • shit...is there any instrument jonny can't play o.O

  • @guyanaboi122 The theremin maybe?

  • Dear Radiohead, please do more songs like these. But I do like all your music, so more of everything.

  • R.I.P humphrey littleton x

  • I used to play the clarinet, sure it was from 6th to 8th grade, but damn that guy is good. Love this song.

  • Одна из любимейших композиций

  • i lolled at the old people playing the horn instruments

  • wow, it is even better than on the record...

  • This is pretty much perfect.

  • The Clarinaet plays perfect !! I Love Radiohead~! They're reaaly~GENIUS! <3

  • This song is why Radiohead is better than everyone in the world

  • q hermoso escuchar a thom y todos los instrumentos , q groso por favor!!!! increible, esto hace radiohead y es impresionante, a lo mefor otra banda no sonaria asi

  • Don't worry everyone, the 13 people who said "dislike" really meant "dis I like".

  • @abbeymaeliam1 hahah

  • can someone please tell me what istrument is the one that appears at 1:14 - 1:23 ?? please, its beautiful. Thanks..

  • @YungDreem

A clarinet, and the guy plays it really well

  • Serious contender to Best Radiohead Song along with National Anthem, Paranoid Android or Airbag.

  • 2:43 thats THE moment.

  • Remind me of a soggy english pub. Beautiful though.

  • I'm shocked Thom is only singing in this performance haha!

  • My current fav. RH song, the meaning i get from this song, its that im not very talkative, so its painful at times, and yeah i think often "i'd like to stay around and chat, but only if someone would listen".

Maybe im wrong, but i sometimes think Yorke hides a little himself behind all the references about Global warming, war, government politics, etc. Often think Radiohead songs have simpler meanings.

  • Children of Men

  • The creativeness is vast, but was definatly creative to its time. Nowadays there are creative bands everywhere, but quite to tune indeed!

  • @mrhappysod rh is unmatched in versatility and creativity

  • @mrhappysod i dissagree music these days is shite. and you will find that your point is correct but the bands that are this creative are bands that are older.

  • 3:11 onwards is beautiful

  • Now that's what I call Quality.

  • this performance is stunning. i want there to be more songs like this but there simply isn't. no one else has the talent to do this.

  • I need sheet music.

    NOW!

  • hail to the clarinetist

  • I dont understand why people compare Radiohead and Muse.. They make different music, and both are amazing! :)

This song and Like Spinning Plates are an awesome ending on Amnesiac..

  • @Arilovich I love Muse, but they aren't genius, like Radiohead. Muse is impressionist music, Radiohead transcends impressionist music into the realm of ethereal.

  • best radiohead song imo

  • ONLY ONLY ONLY! ONLY ONLY ONLY someone's listening in.

  • I always hated RADIOHEAD because of MUSE.

Now, it's the only way around. MUSE are way worse than RADIOHEAD.

    And every band out there.

  • @Johnnypt13 Same! Muse used to be so good, but they got so damn Americanized. All this mainstream crap really ticks me off. I love Radiohead's lyrics because they have their language is so figurative compared to all the other bands. Radiohead is timeless!

  • @hohboy

I mean, Radiohead is quite mainsteam too, if you want to talk that way. Let's not diverge onto the indie/mainstream difference because that's bull. Only people's tastes matter.

Radiohead and Nigel Godrich (their sixth member) managed to always get a different sound than the one record companies were eager to get... The Bends may have a lot of similarities with grunge music and the alternative scene but after OK COMPUTER it's more and more personal...

  • I love the "only, only, only..."-part at the end.

  • aw its nice they gave those senior citizens a part in their song

  • Thom Yorke is such a genius, it is just sick.

HE makes musicians and songwriters HATE themselves!!

Oh, but we love him nonetheless.

  • @irishbear76 personally, I find him quite inspiring.

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When I listen to this song I picture myself in a smoking parlor drinking whiskey on the rocks and wearing a top hat while this band is playing.

  • Hey, go check out my misheard lyrics for this song! Search: "Life in a Glass House Misheard Lyrics - Radiohead". ;)

  • this music reminds me of when i played Mafia pc game xD

  • god... i love this song...

  • this song is genious, love the 30s style in it.

  • Humph - such an inspiration and truly missed.

  • I think Thom is channelling some Freddy Mercury throughout this song.

  • @revton3197

    no.

  • Quite the experiment in Jazz. Interesting.

  • Theres so much going on in this song but if you really listen to it you realize how all the notes and words create something so perfect and unique. Radiohead fans always describe them as "genius", not because of obsession with the band, but because Radiohead. IS. Fucking genius.

  • @RHaeIn68 true all that...!!!!

  • He just gets so into it, you can tell he means it every time he sings, he wants to be there, he wants to be doing what he's doing. Brilliant. All of them. Exactly what they need to be doing, keeping good music alive, when we need it most.

  • Capolavoro assoluto.

  • Definitely the best and most underrated Radiohead song out there.

  • una bestia lo maximo que buen grupo de los mejores que existe actualmente

  • Genious!

  • this is such an EPIC WIN. radiohead are without a doubt one of the most influential bands of this generation.

  • Nice Freddy Mercury moves Thom.

  • This song is pure genius.

  • Why didn't they do it live more? :(

  • what can be better than radiohead? fuckin none!

    <3

  • packed like battery hens in sardine can's - what a cheek

  • Clarinet or oboe?

  • @mfutts wow

  • @mfutts I'm almost positive it's a clarinet

  • i love seeing jonny on piano

  • hahahaha, your username!

  • The best part of this song is the trumpet and clarinet at the end, but this version kinda lacks the "umph" that the album version has.

  • i dont often like jazz piecez ive heard because theyre somewhat cheerful and sound like theres no coherence... in my opinion some even sound as improvisations... i like this cuz its melancholic and has a controlled level of displacement in its notes... its lovely

  • Ive thumbs upped this because I want to preserve it from the exile of 6 thumbs down. Hilarious.

  • Fucking amazing.

  • C'est tout simplement sublime!

    Amnesiac est un superbe album!!

  • Jazz flute!

  • it's not a flute, moron

  • @1justinc dumb

  • my god...i love trombe

  • amnesiac is radiohead finest i think.

i love the jazz feel in this, a genre i've never really explored.

can anyone direct me to some jazz artists/music with a similar sorta sound to to this?

  • @blochead555 Check out Chet Baker songs : The Thrill Is Gone, Time After Time, My Funny Valentine.Sometimes called "Small Room Jazz" &" California Cool"

  • @blochead555 I hated jazz until I know this song. Amazing.

  • @blochead555 listen to 'kind of blue' by miles davis. best jazz album ever in my opinion. D

  • @SaoLorenco Miles Davis is awesome. TuTu and Thelonius Monk.

  • LOL

  • someonezs kl

    stening in

  • 1:39 - 1:41 lol

  • Pulk Pull revolving doors is a pretty bad song in my opinion, they don't suit that full on 'IDM' thing. Rest of the album is fantastic though

  • ermm... perhaps mention the fact humphrey and pete are there in the description? :P

  • great, really great!

  • To be honest this album was my least favourite, before I actually LISTENED to it...

I wonder why it took me so long to take in its beauty! Life in a Glass House, Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army...pure genius

  • Give pulk pull revolving doors and like spinning plates a chance. i promise after a few good listens you'll love it. amnesiac is prolly my fav RH album

  • haha i felt exact the same way about amnesiac

  • Amnesiac is probably the most ethereal album to me.. it's like the undercurrent of the other albums, the glue for Kid A that was left out, not that Kid A wasn't good enough without it, but this album tells a completely different side of the story. can all Radiohead's music not be summed up by saying "there's something about it..."?

  • I have Kid A, Ok Computer, In Rainbows, and the Bends. In Rainbows is my favorite of them all...I got Amnesiac literally just 30 minutes ago, and so far this is my favorite song from the album. Just brilliant.

  • sorry, but I'm afraid I'm not able to contain myself any more!

  • ....the people being there, have they realized at all what they have heard and seen???...

  • ....Thom Yorke, how many facets have you still???....

I keep an eye on you...

  • I want to be Radiohead.

  • everyone wants to be radiohead it's a given lol

  • Am a little bit addicted to this one atm.

R>I>P> Hump Lyttleton (trumpet) and Pete Strange (trombone)

In reference to where Ed is....I don't know where he is but I get half the impression that Thom and Johnny set about doing Kid A and most of Amnesiac just to piss the him off lol Probably jealous cos he's tall and incredibly handsome

  • "But someone's listening in"

Amnesiac could not have had a better ending.

  • wheres ed

  • what are the names of the other featured instrumentalists performing?

  • we're not worthy!

  • Humph makes this song. How I miss him :(

  • best band right now

  • @JazzHandz88 biggest, best is based on opinion. but they are the biggest band on this planet right now.

  • @gabezylo yeah true, weight of opinion (critical + public) seems to be firmly on their side these days. I try not to be smug but I do love it when I'm proved right :D

  • best band ever

  • am i the only one who is worried about Jonny's back? i mean, he's gonna have one monster hunchback when he's older with all the slouching he's doing. i've never seen him look up. haha

  • Lol, when he'll be older he'll still rock his fucking guitar, and won't care about his back haha

  • hah, you right.

  • wonderful
