  • Mary had not only the best voice, but the best hair, anywhere!

  • There was such a small window of time in the early 60's when Folk music was truly appreciated.

  • is this the same as the song in the x files the unnatural where people play baseball

  • Great song. When Paul starts his solo he looks like Nicholas Cage lol

  • Brilliant!!:D

  • Thank you so much for posting the words! Planning to do this with folk choir.

  • @hikenpiper,

    You are welcome!

I have found that you can find lyrics online for many songs; recent and older.

  • Does anyone have a whole recording of the X-files one? I love this version but I think the X-files singers sound fantastic...

  • i swear mary is an angel............

  • beautiful harmony.

Going to sing this in my music class folk music presentation.

  • David Duchovny made good use of this song in the beautiful X-Files episode which he wrote and directed called "The Unnatural"!

  • @brav0wing This song profoundly touched me when I saw the X-Files episode; so much that we had PP&M version played at my mother's funeral last month. Everyone loved it.

  • d song, d voices and Mary's breadth of passion....pure raw talent...incomparable!

  • they were never afraid to sing wonderful hymns & spirituals as long as the music was good and their voices were/are pitch perfect. I've said it before somewhere else, but thank you, thank you, thank you and God bless you.

  • @ nhgranite1,

26 seconds ago you put this up! LOL.

I must be a mind reader because I just now checked my messages. LOL.

My pleasure and I am very happy that so many people have enjoyed these wonderful songs and listening to these delightful musicians. I grew up listening to them and they are an endless source of beauty and entertainment. They were and still are one of a kind.

  • I became a PP&M fan in probably 1963 still running around as an 11 year old pre-teen. When I was 16, I saw them in concert. I found I knew every harmony & every word because I had played those songs incessantly. I still have those albums, but I did buy every album over again on CD. The music is as relevant as ever. I'm not a liberal at least by today's standards, but if you really listen carefully, their message was distinctly Christian. I won't ever be able to adequately thank them.

  • They sure had good music, you have such a great collection of their music, I always thought they had such a unique blend of voices....it's so neat that they had the opportunity to come together and share their talents with others like they did

  • Mary was beautiful back then,RIP.

  • now i know why do i like them ....mary is so dam cute......

  • This has helped me to affirm faith in God. Thanks!

  • @ erincliff75,

  • Anyone know what happened to PPM's "Jesus met a Woman" that was on YouTube and disappeared? I think it was the same venue shown here. (There's another version up, but the quality is not nearly as good).

  • The most wholesome,music i ever heard.Nothings better.

  • What Was Peter Yarrow Thinking?

  • Yes, Mary Is In That Land Where She Was Bound!

    Mary

    Rest In Peace

  • I surely look forward to seeing Mary in the beautiful new land that's promised to come. I love the positive songs they always sang. A wonderful band.

  • Yes. They were and are people of beautiful and lovely spirit.

  • I believe she's singing there already with other people we loved...like my mum, whose greatest love was music, too... this is such a song of hope and joy!

  • Neat and Cool !
