@brav0wing This song profoundly touched me when I saw the X-Files episode; so much that we had PP&M version played at my mother's funeral last month. Everyone loved it.
they were never afraid to sing wonderful hymns & spirituals as long as the music was good and their voices were/are pitch perfect. I've said it before somewhere else, but thank you, thank you, thank you and God bless you.
I must be a mind reader because I just now checked my messages. LOL.
My pleasure and I am very happy that so many people have enjoyed these wonderful songs and listening to these delightful musicians. I grew up listening to them and they are an endless source of beauty and entertainment. They were and still are one of a kind.
I became a PP&M fan in probably 1963 still running around as an 11 year old pre-teen. When I was 16, I saw them in concert. I found I knew every harmony & every word because I had played those songs incessantly. I still have those albums, but I did buy every album over again on CD. The music is as relevant as ever. I'm not a liberal at least by today's standards, but if you really listen carefully, their message was distinctly Christian. I won't ever be able to adequately thank them.
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll
They sure had good music, you have such a great collection of their music, I always thought they had such a unique blend of voices....it's so neat that they had the opportunity to come together and share their talents with others like they did
Anyone know what happened to PPM's "Jesus met a Woman" that was on YouTube and disappeared? I think it was the same venue shown here. (There's another version up, but the quality is not nearly as good).
I believe she's singing there already with other people we loved...like my mum, whose greatest love was music, too... this is such a song of hope and joy!
Mary had not only the best voice, but the best hair, anywhere!

There was such a small window of time in the early 60's when Folk music was truly appreciated.
