Marx talked about a well maintained militia not regular army because he probably thought a large army would be used to support a tyranny. Did not Lenin talke about large bodies of armed men protecting the interests of the ruling class? Sound familiar? Therefore they would not be wearing uniforms, saluting and would probably only have minimal guns, not artillery, planes etc. They would also discuss and vote before going on a mission; that's true socialism my friend.

@wilddog9651 My friend there is a difference between an army and a peoples' army. A peoples' army is not used for imperialistic purposes and is used only in defense. One can have an army and not use it for exploitation, democratic communism is the answer
