  • 0 is my fav hakumen player. 0:35 awesome finish for the 1st round :D

  • It sounds like people are trying too hard by saying, "Look! I like the English voices so I'm not a weeaboo even though I play BlazBlue, probably watch girly stupid anime as a guilty pleasure, and am too ashamed to admit it. I also am very good-looking in person because I am not a weeaboo. Peace. ^^"

  • @accelvist Funny, when people are so adamant about the Japanese voice actors being better(not just in blazblue, but all anime), I sense a lot of hostility towards the U.S. If you really listen to the acting, it's not that much different. The only thing I've ever noticed is that Japanese voice actors seem to sound like their hacking up phlegm a lot. For example, I like Jin's Japanese effeminate voice, but that hacking sound he makes when gets hit makes me gag.

  • Hilarious argument!

  • I grin'd. Easy debates? I've seen better trolling by emoticon-using, illiterate angry kids. Srsly.

For the record, I'm not a weeaboo either, I just enjoy the animus.

  • I'm fucking sick of Carl already, and I haven't even played the game yet! 8D

  • You're not alone there. If it wasn't for Miyuki Sawashiro voicing him, I wouldn't even look at him.

  • Don't even know who that is. :3

  • She's quite a popular voice actress, wiki has plenty of info.

  • Oh, you.

  • No really. Japanese VA's are rarely bad like certain Western VA's, but they're always samey. I've only ever really -noticed- a single Japanese VA, and that's Iemasa Kayumi. That guy has one badass voice.

  • Well...you get points for effort.

(Hint: They aren't, which is the reason why they're loved by their fans.)

  • Actually I'd wager the reason they're loved is because 99% of their fans are actually ENGLISH-speakers who haven't been exposed to the language enough yet to pick up on all the habits that Japanese VA's - particular anime ones - tend to mimic from each other.

Every otaku/wapanese/whatever I know who's eventually grown up has slowly adjusted to the VA's and, gradually, realized they're just as, if not more, samey than Western VA's.

  • This is somewhat funny. It's actually the opposite, a lack of familiarity with Japanese may cause one to think that they're the same. And every wapanese 4chan knows, has instead gotten more particular tastes and favorites. I bet you don't know any wapanese, enjoy your theories.

Now why am I even doing this?

  • lol'd. I know about 5 people 30 or over who used to be weeaboos. I used to be a weeaboo myself when I was much younger; was for around 3 years, haven't been for about 4 now.

Lack of familiarity can lead one to be unable to tell the difference. Slight familiarity leads to picking out the different area accents and habits. Extended exposure leads to picking up on all the ridiculous habits anime VA's tend to pass to each other.

Anyway I'm too tired for easy debates.

  • Just cause you've been something doesn't mean you can speak for the people who are. But i do agree with you, many voice actors ARE mediocre, i only know a few i like, but you can tell when a japanese voice actor sucks. I can tell that the only good voice actors in this game are : Carl and taokaka... everyone else are all pretty decent. Jin, and tager actually have kinda crappy VAs Just because someone has a lot of roles doesn't mean they are good, people have to realize that.
