I applaud Obama for the tough talk. Bush would have said something similar. The reality is that presidents are not scientists. That's why there are cabinets and agencies that specialize in different areas and they advise the president on their expertise and then the president gives the order on what to do. Apparently, the scientists and specialists don't know to stop the damn thing and Obama is left in the middle trying to figure out what to do.

@MegaBustaman it would be bad enough if obama was just muddling in the middle. instead, he has spent the last two months trying to stay out of loop, maybe to avoid blame or ruin the gulf to help pass cap n trade? who knows what lies in the mind of a president who sees the entire southern coast dying and doesn't take charge. this disaster requires a war room right out of the white house to coordinate and delegate. instead all those agencies are bumping into each other, looking for leadership.

The impression is that he is two months staying out of the loop but he is actually working behind the scenes trying to contain this. He could not be sitting around watching TV while this is going on. His efforts are not getting much media attention because the media is to amplify the negatives.

Also, the US is an advanced nation-we do not have to depend on other countries to assist us-some help is good but not too much -the US HELPS other poor nations-not the other way around.
