You are extremely talented! I am a beginner, but had incredible results with your tutorials - I love your creativity and please, stop apologizing for the length of the videos, we never get bored, not one second! :) Thank you for your wonderful advice, and keep posting!
These are just so cute. What parts are fondant and which is gumpaste again? If the wings are dried and hard gumpaste how did you go about attatching them to the body? Any info would be great. Thanks so much!
Great videos - love that they are longer and provide the level of detail you include! Appreciate you taking the time to help us other cake decorators out! :)
you can use these for a boy or a girl's christening cake. once these are dry, you can store them in an airtight container-- not in the fridge -- and they can last months even years. you can make them days in advance.the wings take overnight to really dry hard
wow... u r really great.. & dont ever say sorry for the length.. its not.. in fact it is very details and as a novice i sure have learn a lot from you... keep up the good work.. love all yr videos & u have a very sweet voice :)
Please don't complain about the videos running long, they are perfect because you take us slowly step by step, EXACTLY what a novice is looking for. Thanks again, your work & videos are great!
I love that you are so helpful in teaching your craft to us novice's on youtube. Can you please tell me what is fondant glue. You used this term and I do not know what that is. Is it water mixed with something to attached the hands/head to the figure? Is it egg whites? Please help. Thank you I love your videos!
fondant glue is a clear edible glue that is made by mixing 1 part of the tylose powder to 30 parts water. ( usually i teaspoon to 30 teaspoon)... others use piping gel, others use melted fondant. i use tylose glue because it dries .clear
thank you so much for these videos they have really really helped me! I made my first cake today and used homemade fondant as well as a variation of the bumble bees from your other video and I have received nothing but positive comments! of course I gave credit to your videos! I'm going to have to try this now -- you should really think about opening your own bake shop if you dont already have one or making your own website if you dont already have one. Thanks again!
omg this is so beautiful omg u making me want 2 do one i am very creative 2 but u showed me a whole other side of creativity lol thanx for the demonstration bye hope 2 see more videos
You are so talented! And might I add humble - I love have you called yourself a beginner - I think you may have graduated! Ha ha! You're great and keep up the BEAUTIFUL cakes!
thanks for doing this..i just did my first *fairy* (instead of angel). your instructions were right perfect. although i dont think my fairies are as well done as your angels lol. ill post in a day or so my results.
Thank you... i would want you to know that I learned online... here on this site... so really to me, i know that what I can do, anybody can do as well or even better. I will try to post more of how I have learned to do things with fondant :) Thansk again!
that tool you're talking about is called an "extruder" and they are a PAIN IN THE BUTT when you're using fondant - they work much better with gumpaste, but even then they are a pain and a half. these angels are adorable, by the way :o)
hi mimzy! i didnt know they were difficult to use..... hmmm, what could be a good alternative to that if i want to make strands? or for tassel-like stuff ? ( i plan to make a pillow cake--- someday :)
they r easy 2use; put gumpaste in 1end, squeeze, get strings out the other end - but if ur gumpaste is 2soft or if the humidity is high then everything gets stuck inside the extruder and it ends up being a whole big mess. If u want really even, perfect strands, it's the tool 2use, tho I prefer to roll my strands myself - I use a fondant smoother 2roll the gumpaste instead of my hand - it comes out perfectly even that way. More cutting involved, but far less mess!
I've used the extruder (lil black and red gun) and I couldn't live without it....I use it with marshmellow fondant and the trick is to grease the fondant and work it!!!!
Thanks for such a great set of videos for this tutorial! I think that this would be perfect for decorating a christmas cake.

ermm.. sound silly to ask.. but can this thing be eaten ? or is it jus for decoration ?
SiilyGuL 2 years ago
it is for decoration-- but if someone was crazy enough to bite or lick it-- it is still sugar anyway and is technically "edible"
