@Atreyu96 It's solely on the block design. The 4g63 is a closed deck motor while the EJ25 is a semi closed deck. Once you sleeve an EJ it has the same capabilities as the 4g63, where as now the evo runs into drivetrain problems and the STi is home free with it's bulletproof drivetrain. Also, stock, EVO's have a turbo that significantly outflows a STi's stock turbo. Put a 20g on an STi and it'll make the same power as a stock turbo EVO, which is basically a 20g on it's own.

@000ADRush Both turbo'd and un-turbo'd flat-4. Just because an engine has a turbo, doesn't mean its tits. I like my Subie because everything is symmetrical. And the flat-4 is horizontally opposed so its more balanced and it sits lower for a lower center of gravity. All-Wheel drive gives it better grip. That is why I drive a (Naturally Aspirated (non-turbo)) Subaru Impreza. I'm also looking into an '05 WRX in the near future.

You can get a car powered by those engines for about the same if not cheaper than an STI or evo. A turbo build isn't too bad. I'm doing one on my GTO soon.

@000ADRush Yeah true a new vette is expensive. And the cars I mentioned all came stock with the LS1 or LS2 engine during those years. I have a 2004 GTO with the LS1. I love it. Great thing about the LS series engines is they have so much room to improve on power. My stock internals can hold around 700 hp which is a decent amount (even though I would recommend building internals for that much). I am working on making my "quick" car into a darn fast car. Forced induction ftw!
