What is inside a - K&N HP-3001 Oil Filter

It´s nothing but regular Bosch 0451104001 filter (Wix 51515). No different than a typical filter. So don´t bother paying extra for the K&N logo ;-)

@Lasselkv28 Depends on what your definition of typical is. There is no way a wix will go for extended drain intervals, and nor will a "regular" bosch filter. And one last bit, all 3 filters are made by completely different manufacturers.

Typical may be a wrong word for a filter, but there is absolutely nothing different about this filter except the printings obn the outside

K&N does not manufacture these filters themselves. And there is nothing called a Long Life oil filter for ordinary road cars. It´s another matter when it comes to Trucks and Off-Road equipment.

@wtl1964 Because you you don't gain HP from oil... On the contrary, using the wrong oil causes extra wear and rotational mass, causing a loss of power at a given HP... But not actually "Losing" or "Gaining" HP. And that is all to do with the viscosity and lubricants...

@Aqrab1 you can't clean this filter, you recycle it after you are done with it. Change it as per your vehicle manufacturer's specified oil change interval.
