@bigbrian310 this song was made in 2005, the movie was based around the 2003 season. Therefore it didnt actually happen. but, the song helps to tie in with everything that happend in the movie and gives a little heart tearing/warming feeling to who is watching it. The part where shes saying caught in the middle is about her, because her parents are divorced and shes between them. The enjoy the show part is about her dad not staying to watch the games.
A fitting song. Her parents were not together so she may have felt a little"caught in the middle"and vulnerable as any child would,The reference to "just enjoy the show" Billy never watched his team in fear of jinxing them. I think in real life Billy made the right decision. for turning down the offer. Life is too short and to pick money over spending time and being close to the people you love most is sad. Cos all we have in the end is our memories, And mine will be with my family always!
@bigbrian310 I think it had something to do with it. If he were to take the job in Boston, he would have likely seen his daughter even less than he does when he is in Oakland.
@bigbrian310 I think it had a big effect on him. This song was picked well and it ties in well to what's going on in the movie. I think in this scene everything was put into perspective for him.
Best part of the whole movie when they do the closeup of his face at 1:30 and the tear runs down his face. By far the best part

This scene and the part where Jonah`s character is showing Billy the "home-run" metaphor made this movie for me...
