The victims were not that important. President is just a figurehead in Poland. Just like in most European countries. Premier has the power. The government wasn't affected at all. It's only an emotional shock for Poles.
The death of top generals was more significant. But still there were no Napoleons there. Their deputies quickly took over.

One can easily imagine that they were loaded onto the plane at gunpoint and flown to their deaths. The question is, what is the purpose behind this murder? Everybody on board were dead even before the plane was blown to pieces. Gunshots? Probably militia trying to scare away curious people (Someone in the video, probably militia, even yells "Get the fuck out of here!"). Those people would probably be fired upon if they tried to came close to the wreck. The situation was serious and Russians knew that.

All i'm saying is that there is no way anyone would have been shot if you can actually HEAR the gunshot noise, maybe those shots were fired in the air or something, i don't know. This year here in Romania on the Ukrainan border a guy's wife and daugter were shot in his appartment apparently by Ukrainian gangsters, and nobody heard anything - their guns were "silent"
