@nightmarescrib I believe season eight is very much Buffy. I admit I have a lot of catching up to do, but I believe this could be Bufffy's best season yet. Fans can't be surprised that season eight is bit more epic and bit more larger than life. It is not meant to be like the television series. If Joss ever makes a Buffy movie this is exactly what it will be like.
Yes she does. It was issue 15. The other girl was the slayer named Satsu. Supposedly it was just Buffy needing some human comfort and wasn't supposed to be about exploring her sexuality. I think it was out of character for her but many fans disagree and believe it was long overdue.
BOO! Dawn hasn't had a decent plotline since season 5 and she actually HAS something interesting going on now. You think it's dumb, but it's cool and once her story is all wrapped up full circle you will look back on it and kick yourself.
Or-not. It's nothing against the actress who I do enjoy but I don't like how Dawn was introduced into the show; it's the formula a writer follows when he feels like he is losing an audience; just add a kid and ratings will come back. If Dawn's relationship was so monumental why wasn't any of it part of Season 8?
do you know anything about the show??? dawn was not just thrown in- there are clues to her arrival as early as season three and who knows how early joss actually came up with the idea. Her introduction was puzzling and that's what made it intriguing.
Also, season 8 is not over. A lot has yet to be explained!
@amberthestylist If I'm not mistaken wasn't Dawn foreshadowed in season four during a dream sequence with Faith. Furthermore, I think a year and half has past since season seven. A lot has happen since that time and we don't need to see ever event in order to understand its importance. If person never saw a single episode of Buffy, but was a fan of Angel they would still understand Buffy's significance to Angel despite never seeing the show.
@amberthestylist What a load since Joss doesn't care whether his shows fail or not when it comes to his writing. Your talking about the guy who packed up his office when he originally couldn't have the kiss between Tara and Willow in The Body.
And as for the Dawn plotline in the comics (or any other plotline for that matter) these are comics they are supposed to be different than a TV show.
@Buffy8Fan I have to disagree with you on that last part. The comic is "Season 8" of BtVS. It's supposed to be what the creators would have done if they had an unlimited budget and supportive network, their "dream" for BtVS if you will.
What a fabulous review! You have a great voice and I agree with a lot of what you have to say! I would definitely like to see Fray out in theatres. I think that would be amazing. And Buffy does get a little goofy in this issue. Dawn's transformations are funny but it's like Joss couldn't figure out what to do with her at the moment. Still, the eight season is going great minus Warren's return and Mecha Dawn.
I agree. I would love to see a Fray movie first as well :)
