  • That is not Saifa!!! It seems more like Wing Chung movements applied as the Saifa Kata. I can not dislike it!! It is good Wing chung!!! Good job mate!!!

  • Sure it's saifa, but it's certainly not any saifa I've ever seen.

(I'm a nidan in Shotokan-ryu, and I've been learning from Yamaguchi Gogen's book which contains saifa.)

  • HAH! This is not Goju, and that is not Saifa. Paper tiger.

  • looks like a wing chun version of saifa...not goju or even kingai for that matter,,,

  • @brasshandmartialarts You are totally right mate!! this looks more like wing chung applied in the Saifa arms movements.

  • Wow, I don’t know what to say. You jumped in the some track many others are on - “making up stuff” if it’s a kata you made then say that but to call it Saifa. Parents and children and potential students - this is why you need to check a teacher for a true license to teach, Dojo Hall number, credible Organization or Federation.

  • 剛柔流?

  • good and all bt i dunno ur karate. i do go kan ryu im a brown belt. my saifa is waay different

  • You have done the same to this kata as you did with the Gekisai. Please call it something else, such as Saifa no Gojukenpo or something. It is not Saifa. It appears that your modified kata that I have seen lack the lesson of Tai sabaki, moving the body into a more advantagious possition.

  • Dude - I teach my students about respecting others, but that was horrible. I'd be embarrased to post this! What's with the tee shirt, anyway? Also, if you are going to call this goju ryu, try to imagine Chojun Miyagi standing in front of you - what would he say?

  • I kind of like it. You don't need a lot of room and you don't get all sweaty.

  • what the fuck is this rubbish !?? where is the rest of your gi ? master Chojun Miyagi must be spinning in his grave ! stop bastardising Okinawa go jo ryu ! and keep the kata of this outstanding ryu traditional ! are you in the US by any chance !!!

  • Ever watched old photos ? Gi and Miyagi ... hm. Merchandise was later.

  • such versions as this here, lose the technique for practical moves as they were intended many years ago by the originators of such kata. Sorry but i dont rate it

  • 這是碎破? 不知所謂!

  • ummm. this is insulting to the men who studied ways to make defending your self easy as breathing and you come along wiering half a gi and slap the meijin in the face who made this kata, sai fa is a old kata and i look at it as almost sacred in a sense that the technique in it is deadly and has many more applications then your modified version, if you modify something, it means to improve its efficiency

  • Interesting version, very dynamic, I practice Shito-ryu. In my style we move a lot, this version is very static. Interesting to see this static version anyway, it forces you to focus a lot on the hip movement and the breathing.

  • GKRs version is better , you actually move...

  • GKR can kiss my ass. MCdojo.

  • wtf, the real saifa u move foward, he just stays there

  • 流派は、何なんかな?

  • Very interesting and very usefull, i just can imagine how it would be working as self defence in real life. Much faster and useable than the more traditional way.

    Keep it up :-)

  • I agree and disagree. The traditional version has many bunkais you can apply in real life, the kata is just those elements put together in something harmonious so you can remember it. This version is different and can be used in a different way. Both can be useful in my opinion

  • -----UPDATE------

GoJu Kenpo is working for new video of katas. These are the old video in low quality.

More video to come in HQ and whit a lot of feature!!

  • Again, interesting. Still curious as to the purpose of introducing Wing Chun-style technique into the Goju-Ryu kata...perhaps you would consider commenting on this so people aren't confused thinking this is the orthodox way of performing these Goju kata variants.
