As a scottish heavy metal guitarist (please respect me I play more than just metal, just my own stuff is metal lol) I am very interested in learning celtic guitar and mixing this in with metal, I mean it has suppousdly been done before but I don't think it's been done well enough because I can't hear it anywhere. So I would just like too know what are some good tips for learning celtic guitar, I am already a proficent finger picker. Btw awesome sound man, my girl friend think so to.

Very good setting! To fit with traditional Scots session instrumentation, this arrangement needs shifting to Capo 2 to pitch it in D (C is friendlier to modern singers, the original is in D). It's not traditional, the music was written for Sir Walter Scott, around 1812, for his daughter Sophia to learn on piano, guitar and harp. He wrote the words himself, retelling an old family story about Sir John Scott of Hassendean.

aimè, io non sono il compositore... quelli che suono sono brani "traditional" appartenenti - più o meno - alla "celtic music". Questo, ad esempio, è scozzese e ne esistono innumerevoli versioni: io mi sono limitato a trovarne un adattamento per la chitarra.

The speed is just right - this gives the melody its even yet lilting quality. I live near Dermot's factory and his guitars are real quality products. I have played the A25 in the same woods as your guitar -it was a lovely instrument. Perhaps I may have to acquire one though I would probably want the A30 or AD30 for the greater bass response.

Do you live in Antrim County?... It's fantastic!... Dermot is a great guitar maker and I like very much his A25: I find it just right for celtic fingerstyle, but if you prefear a guitar with more Bass then the A35 (Cedar/Rosewood) may be a better choice. It really depends on you own preferences and style.
