  • Bo Jackson. Most record holders are lucky he played basesball and had a career ending injury. Bo Jackson had more than enough size and had way more than enough speed.

  • Jim Brown of the SEC.

  • I remember there was a national tv promo commercial using this song with Herschel leading up to the National Champ Game. Does anyone know anything about it or has a video of it. Please leave me comments.

  • @william2240 I would like to know too; didn't see it.

  • Herschel has always been my favorite running back. He was absolutely misappropriated after Dallas. That's sad because we have been robbed of too much great enjoyment. I'm glad to see him so ready at age 47 and believe he could be a valuable player - still - on some NFL team (Redskins!). Thanks Herschel.

  • he definitly need a new helmet if you watch/play football you will understand where im coming from...he is in my top ten rb's

  • i really hope he whoops some ass in mma. i worry about his age, at 47 thats very old to start out but the guy is easily one of the greatest athletes from any sport. go herschel kick some ass bro!

  • I agree with statement about Walker being the best RB in college football ever. But I disagree with USFL comment. That was a second-tier league. 90% of those players couldn't "sniff" the NFL. Not to take away from Walker, Kelly, Dupree, or many other's accomplishments. The talent there was not the same as the talent in the NFL (by far)...

  • USFL was definitely pro football. They got paid right? Now for all of you who think your precious NFL can't be touched, had the USFL been smarter they would have thrived and given fans an alternative to this watered down NFL that now exists.I loved the USFL days and long for fun days of football.I don't mind watching a football game that ends 9-7

  • what's watered down about the nfl?

  • Doesn't matter. He still played Pro ball.DUUHH!

  • The USFL was not pro football

  • one of the best running backs of all time and cool song too! God Bless UGA!

  • To hell with jackson, sanders, bush, simpson and all of the others. Herschel Walker is the greatest and always will be the greatest!!!

  • I agree that his NFL numbers are lacking when compared to what he did at Georgia (although I believe he gained over 2,000 FTLOS yards twice). But how are his years in college, at Georgia, any less memorable than, say, Barry Sanders' years on a woeful Detroit team? Or Eric Dickerson on some good but not great Rams' teams?

Also, if you say "pro" then you are opening up the door to his USFL days. During which he gained over 2,400 yards (strictly rushing) in one, 18-game season.

  • In 1988 before Troy was drafted Wlaker ran for over 1,500 yards on a Cowboy team with no talent (3-13) around him. I'd say that is pretty great!

  • yeah he was traded, for five players at one point. stop hatin on herschel

  • screw reggie bush

  • the greatesgt

  • I know this will date me but I saw Pat Benatar back in the early 80's and she dedicated this song to Herschel

  • top dawg forever and always! even my babe in australia is finding out now after all these years the greatest running back that ever lived. she even sent me this vid. nice to see buck in there too who i listen to daily on 680 the fan. thank u hershcel for being the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! top dawg top college athlete ever. the man was only robbed 2 at least 1 heisman trophies just because bushnazi wouldn't give him the first 1 he earned because he was merely a freshman wtf?

  • R.I.P UGA

  • U like Bitchagan? They aree playing the role this year.

  • o you herchel walker

  • I will always remember the 1980 season. It was so fun to wake up on Saturday mornings, and know that this super tailback was going into unchartered territory running the football.

  • Yeah, in 1980, I would wake up Sat. morning at the Reed Hall dorm for the Dawgs' home games and get a shower. Get up some breakfast in the UGA cafeteria.

A little while later, I'd pick up my sorority girlfriend. We'd usually go to a tailgating party. Have some boiled shrimp and ice-cold beer.

Walk in Sanford Stadium to watch Hershel play and the atmosphere "Between the Hedges" would be electric.

  • The Bulldogs won 24 straight home games starting in 1980.

  • And I saw Pat do this song in concert two or three years later.

  • awesome video....love it

  • Thanks.
