in the search above type in "Beyond our Universe Infinity Zoom HD" then skip to 50 seconds.. starts at earth and zooms out to infinity, and back in past grass to a drop of water, down past the atom, ect... more of a 2011 updated view. thank me later
@CrazyIemon It's the space that light covers in one second, at that scale you can see both the distance and the velocity, in fact the time the line takes to be traced is about one second, here is compared to Earth's dimension. I hope this helps...
@CrazyIemon its suposed to mean that if you are in that distance you will see a beam of light traveling the lenght from the earth to the moon in one second at the speed of how it is on the video
Are you like 10 years old or something? Because if you are, then on what bases are you saying "obviously they have cameras that can do this"? Let me guess, on the bases that you went to gender-garden!
I guess they used multiple images (and a video on the human scale). The image of the earth from 100km high is zoomed in. The stars and galaxies part is completely computer animated. No camera's there obviously.
Chr1zl: so they travelled 100 million years with the speed of light and took a really giant scope with them. Then from 100 million lightyears distance they filmed and zoomed :D
You could fit almost 100 quintillion (100,000,000,000,000,000,000) in a space about the size of a grain of sand. The Earth is more than 8,000 miles in diameter. We orbit more than 93 million miles away from from one star out of more than 400 in our galaxy alone, several lightyears even sometimes more than a dozen seperating each star from one another. The nearest whole galaxy to us (the Adromeda) is almost 3 million lightyears away. Their are hundreds of billions of known galaxies.

@zahmad007 thank you! And yeah, I thought it was from that time. It looks like the animations in the series Cosmos

When this was made?

@mvszao This is a old video, I think it was made in the late 80s. I think it was used for IBM educational purposes.

At 1:30 the narrator talks about how a line extends that suppose to represent light? Can someone explain that to me?
