If you are going to try DragonQuest you should try IX Sentinels of the Starry Skies, by far one of the best games on the ds and an easy RPG to get into. Get the guide to if you can, its excellent. Also From The Abyss is a fun hack and slash RPG, and you can get it for wicked cheap.

Great collection, I would recommend the Ace Attorney games, Ghost Trick, Animal Crossing, Hotel Dusk, DK Jungle Climber, Pokemon games, Mario & Luigi Bowsers Inside Story, Professor Layton, and 999 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors (one of the best games on the system).
