@Nick19997 I actually read somewhere that this gun was designed to be possible to shoot with one hand in the event of a difficult around the corner maneuver in a building etc. I could have gotten band info though, but I"m pretty sure that's right :)
@Unclesamslair FFL lets you possess firearms that are not available to the public. it's only illegal if you can't produce the documents that allows you to have one.
If that is truly an automatic PS90, I want to know how it got converted. If what I hear is correct, I could get a class 3 license and convert it myself. And I know my state has no laws against licensed automatics.
Guys this is probably at a gun clinic that has the proper liscensing to own those guns. That or the owner of the gun has a Class three FFL or paid the right tax stamps.
if you're going to tell someone about the legality of automatic weapons, you should at least know yourself. i have a p90 in my gun safe and am not law enforcement or military (though i am a former marine). any automatic weapon can be purchased simply by filling out a class 3 weapon appropriation form, receiving permission from a CLEO, and undergoing an ATF background check and paying the $200 class 3 transfer tax.
@PooPoo2U Not exactly...any "new" produced full auto are NOT allowed with any class 3, such as the P90 unless your are LE or Military. Only full auto weapons and parts made before 1986 are allowed to transfer on a class 3 license. That is why there is a secondary market on full auto weapons and the price is extremely expensive. Normal AR15 w/ a $2 auto sear made before 1986 makes it a $8000 weapon. So current made auto weapons are NOT legally transferred via Class 3
So in Texas, a civilian like me could own this, if I went through the proper paperwork? Would I need to take any kind of classes like you do for a concealed handgun license? Now that I think about it, do I even need to take a class for a CHL or carry license? Or can those just be purchased?
No, see audiosuccess' response for an explanation. Although there is an exception for SO 02/07 I think it is, some ranges have newer full autos to rent by the hour.
The closest you can come to that is to get a PS90 and apply to shorten the barrel through BATFE. It's a $200 tax stamp and a few months of waiting. No classes.
So using your logic lets say this (which i dont think is right). I can just be any person on the street, and approach a class 3 ffl and tell him that I want an AN94 and a cop is ok with that. the atf clears me and I pay 200. So lets say that Izhmash doesnt sell exclusively to Russia, then I can simply get my an94 with no issues?
@korn6499 IF your local law enforcement approves, and IF the ATF approves, and IF you pay the tax stamp, and IF any an-94's were imported prior to 1986, then you could have your an-94. However, since the '94' means 1994, you won't find any civilian-legal an-94's. If you want one, you'd have to be a law enforcement agency or a class 3 ffl yourself.
Some states still believe in freedom and allow a person to legally own a fully automatic weapon. It's a class III license. Expensive and you're on the A.T.F's radar forever though.
I agree you should have the freedom to own any gun you want as long as you are a law abiding citizen. If your not a criminal why should your government restrict your freedoms?
On the other hand, just for practicality, most people don't have the training/discipline to properly use the benefit of a full-auto wepon. For most of us its simply easier to learn to use a semi. That way we don't waste our precious ammo!
No its not, a class 3 license is to sell class 2 weapons, you do not need a class 3 license to own a class 2 weapon but a tax stamp. Believe me I live in a house that I would know the procedure for that. Whoever told you you need a license is full of it. A tax stamp and clear record, nothing more.
The PS90 is the civi legal model. It has a longer barrel and is semi auto only. You can get it in black or OD green. The P90 is select fire semi and full auto, has the short tipped barrel, and is only available for Law Enforcement, Goverment, and the Military. You can get either model with or without a built in red dot style optic. The model without the red dot simply has a rail along the upper reciever so the user can mount the scope or optic of thier choice. The PS90 ranges from $1000-$1700.00
There's no red-dot optic in the P90. It's a Ringsight: a dot inside a small circle inside a large circle, standard color being white, the USG model has black. And in low light environments, the tritium T sight shows up.
There is one that is a drab olive green, there is one that is black. I do know there are a couple different versions of the PS90 that have come out and I very well could be wrong, but I think there are ones with different sights and different length barrels. I think the common one for sale right now is black.

@VoidOnTuesday Seen that before, I don't think that's real. If you listen to the shots, it sounds like a silenced gun. This sounds very loud.

So what if it's illegal to use a semi auto gun in full auto. We all love full auto! =]
WTFisAuserFRCKINname 1 year ago
The astute may have noticed: - the instructor is wearing an FNH USA polo shirt - the video was posted by Lipseys, a major US firearms distributor
This is very likely at the FNH factory range. So, yes, it's a P90 & not a PS90.

its prob a ps-90 converted to p90 by a class gun builder/dealer

the full auto p90 is illegal to own for private citizens but I keep on seeing videos everywhere of people that have it, how is this possible?

A PS-90 is semi-auto, a P-90 is full auto. If a PS-90 is shooting full auto, it is in violation of Federal gun regulations.

thats odd, if its auto, then isnt it just a regular p90, not the ps90?

@gruzergrub5000 It doesn't say ps90. And the PS90 has a longer barrel, otherwise it's the same.
regis7136 1 year ago
@gruzergrub5000 Full-auto=P90 (Police/Military)
Semi-automatic=PS90 (Civilian)
The PS90 also has a longer barrel, as well as a shorter magazine and mag well.

It's not a ps90. It's a p90. The ps90 is the semi auto version of the p90.

yeah, black is common now adays, OD green has become much more harder to find. and you can get the ps90tr or the ps90 usg model type.
