Hey man awesome video. Helped me out a lot, but was wondering if you could post a video of the left hand as George Martin composed and mentioned in the beginning of this video? If not was wondering if you know about any sheet music for that part and where to get it?
@jdiggyd Glad you liked it, thanks. I thought about showing the original George Martin version but it's just too tough to teach that on a video with all of the individual notes in both right and left hands. I do believe, though, that you can find the solo transcribed in The Beatles Complete Scores book, published by Hal Leonard. As I recall it had every note of every song and was very thorough, so it's likely that you'll find it there.
@lladanscott This is actually my own arrangement of the solo. The right hand is the original, but the left hand chord structure is mine. I think it makes the song flow better on solo piano when it's done this way, as opposed to the individual notes in both hands. Glad you enjoyed it!
@lladanscott The solo was actually composed by George Martin, and it took him about an hour. He played it at a slowed-down tempo, then sped up the tape to match the tempo on the record. Quite a nice composition, huh?
okay piano john my man, I've learned many a beatles songs from you, been meaning to thank you for that. Second, I'm not 100% sure if you cover this song or have a tutorial, But it would be bad ass if you did Mr. Sand Man...I looked at other peoples tutorials...Just can't learn from them.
U r legendary. You've helped me learn this and my older sister will be jealous! George Martin is also legendary, he composed the solo. Despite only being the producer, he had talent in music
@Keanedani You can find the sheet/transcription of this song at the Molto Allegro website. See my main channel page for the details and the link to it.
I remember about a year ago looking at your videos with much confusion and a little desperation at all the thing I would need to tackle in order to learn these songs correctly, and nowadays I find much ease, almost as if you should speed up a bit in the explanations. Thanks for helping me reach this level of proficiency, there must be many more people you are helping along on their musical adventures.
@Freddy9296 The older vids were recorded in mono, before You Tube went stereo. The sound is on the other audio channel. Ifyou go to your computer's main audio control, move the balance tab to the center, and you should hear it.
I agree with @melrules911 or can you email the sheet music? I do agree that the original version will throw off the melody, but it sounds so much better, although its very tough. If anyones has the sheet music plz send it...thankx afonso.noel@gmail.com
@eenayeah Yes, I'd thought about doing a cover of it with the original solo, so maybe I will. It's a little awkward to play the solo without the backing instruments, but it can work.
0.o Wow me AND my Piano teacher thought that was AMAZING. LOL I think your great at making videos like this and your really talented. Great work. I'm very proud of you! =D
This solo is so hard because George Martin played it slowly in a lower key then sped it up to match the key of the song. So you are better than George Martin. Read Revolution in The Head, tells you everything about every Beatles song.
@pianojohn113 thanks. I was thinking the solo was in 4/4 like the rest of the song but I guess I just second guessed myself because george martin is a classical genius and has been known to throw some tricky time signatures into beatles songs. thanks again.
Thank you ! my brother asked me long time ago to learn this song but i couldnt find the sheets anywhere. He is going to be so happy. I love this song , great job!
hey very nice lesson, but it would be nice if you make a record of the original solo. you stoped playing it at the first when you were illustrating how it is played on the record. maybe a fast record without explaining each note.
@hecyr Yes, some people have asked for that, so I might make a separate video with the original solo. I just have to remember to do it when I have the time.
hey thanks for this lessons but that would be nice if you make a record of the solo as it is original recorded. you stop playing when you were illustrated how is played at the begining of the tutorial. maybe fast a record without an explication of each note.
Thank you soooo much. This was my friends favorite song and because of you and your tutorial I was able to play it at his funeral. You are a great teacher.
great job!!but in the second video you didn't which chord went with which note so it made me confused because i dont really know which chord goes with which note..i have the right hand down though!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. I have recently joined a band and was given this piece to learn, in a week, I'm almost there thanks to you, cheers!! x
I'm sure you know George Martin recorded this solo, slowed way down in a different key then speeded up to simulate a harpsichord sound (which they didn't really achieve) but it worked anyway.
Kudos, for playing it fast and for another excellent tutorial.
Not bad. I have a video of me playing this solo, as well as the one in Lovely Rita, except i played both hands as George Martin played it (or as well as i could figure it out, its not exactly easy to hear). Check it out if you'd like. thanks.
only thing is when you do that E B low E your playing it like tumbao foot pattern instead of the album which are straight and smooth. Its slight but its driving me crazy!

@pianojohn113 Wow...That's really amazing John. 1. I've always wondered about that solo.
2. Never would have guessed that that's how it was performed. That's a
really cool fact though.Read that in a book? or just catch it on the
internet somewhere.

The left hand isn't what im talking about. 3:30 the rhythm is 8th notes for the notes E B E B.
You're playing a dotted eighth note then a 16th in beat three instead.
Thats all
