No, Andromeda is too far away for us to send a space craft there. For light to get to Andromeda, it takes a really long time, longer than Earth has been alive. No human or machine on Earth has made a space craft to travel faster than light, so it would take even longer to get to Andromeda. Nothing will happen to earth or any other planets or stars when the two galaxies collide, they will just make a bigger version of us really. Because of the distance between all of the stars and stuff, virtually nothing will collide or be destroyed. /watch?v=8LwWdfxUuuY&feature=relmfu ... skin to about 3:46 on that video.
Seeing how big the universe is - it makes you wonder why people still believe in superstitions and that 'god' made it all for us to live in. When was the last time you built your 2 pet ants a play-pen the size of Europe? Exactly...either god didn't make it for us to play in at all, or god made it for a lot more civilizations than just our own.
Brian, yes our tech is improving BUT we are talking light years here, not travelling to the moon.Just get out of the MW we need to travel for a 100 000yrs at 300 000km/sec.
We are not mastering intestellar space travel with current physics nevermind intergalactic travel anytime soon.
@L0B03 I wouldn't be so sure...our own tech is expanding exponentially, 100 years ago if you told the average joe that we would fly to the moon he would of moved to the other side of the street fearing for his safety. Now look at us.
Fancy you will live that long in the sort of future you describe(holywood depicts) were if anything people would live less as they are sleep deprived, slave driven wretches, organ farms for the galactical wealthy.
@dmax631 yeah and when we meet them we'll be at war with them
----------------------------- Why preoccupy yourself with it if you believe in that you will be long dead by then, we are talking about a minimum of say 200-300 years in the future going up to a possible 0.5-1 milllion years in the future....or even more andromeda is perhaps 1 million light years away, meaning if you travel constantly at the speed of light(300 000 km per SECOND) it would take you JUST oh 1 million years reach it

Those who disbelieved said, “There is no coming of the Hour for us.”
Say, “No, by my Lord, the knower of the unseen, it will certainly come upon you.”(34:3)
And We made the sky a well protected roof. Still they turn away from its signs. (21: 32)
When you look at the mountains, you think that they are standing still. But they are moving like clouds. Such is the artistry of God, who disposes of all things in perfect order. He is indeed fully aware of what you do. (27:88)
“Say: ‘If all mankind and the jinn would come together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce its like even though they exerted all and their strength in aiding one another.’” (17:88)
“Or do they say that he has invented it? Say (to them), ‘Bring ten invented chapters like it, and call (for help)

Alif Lam Mim. (1) This Book has no doubt in it - a guidance for the God-fearing (1:2)
@itachiitachi1946 No, the Milky Way is going to collide with Andromeda in about 3-5 Billion years. If it was 2000-3000 years it'd be moving MUCH faster than the speed of light. As a matter of fact the light you see when you observe Andromeda from the ground here on earth is from 2.5 million years ago!!
ppl wounder how big space is even if there a ending or u just go in circle if u get to the end some say that space is like a Glass ball u just go in circles! if ur at the end there no ups or down just vacum seel an nothing but open space to fly around
I love space... I do not understand it, and I do not understand many of the scientifical writings about it, unfortunately, I am not a scientist. But I belive in Science. And in my little knowledge of our universe I love M31 more than any other galaxy out there... I named my friesian horse after her...
every time the narrator says "because" he is guessing, every time he says a number, any number, he's guessing. They cannot triangulate the galaxy, so as far as the scientists know they could be 40 feet away from the furthest point we've reached in space, what scientists think are massive stars could really just be dust, they can't tell.
But I'm sure this will be lost on a bunch of mouth-breathing science worshipers who still think we went to the moon.
@andmaketherain I realize you're a flat earther, and you think the entire cosmos exploded from a marble, i know you think that light is constant and time is relative, and that you think energy cannot be created. I realize you think you're the retarded offspring of monkeys, and they the retarded offspring of other animals all the way back to some murky shit in water. So, when I tell you that you're being poisoned mentally and physically by the very people you consider infallible, you scoff.
@Quindal Oh, I realize the corporations are killing people, however what you think does not refute that humans have landed on the Moon. And yes, all science is only as good as the latest data. But for the other points you make, if you feel you have better proof and can replicate it, do it. Otherwise, your beliefs are not facts. And you should realize that without science, we would not be able to communicate in this manner.
Most high, master day of justic,Creater of earth and hevens and creatures among them but disbelivers says this quran is mortal verses, magic and nothing but stories from olds,Indeed this quran is warning for mankind and light and guidence for belivers but mostly they know not day of justic hard and painfull, every soul shell be asked what they did, sent and left behind,There is sign in creation of havens, earth and creatures among them, there is sign in there own body but wise follow advice,h quran
Those who reject our sign see not universe and earth was joint togather long before BOTH WAS LIKE SMOKE(GAS),We seprate them with huge blast then decorate lowest heaven with shining lights, planets all are floting in there orbits to one promissed day,If we will you on earth and those who lives between earth and heaven let you all one meeting place then disbelivers know well this glorious quran is words of there lord mighty the wise, most mercifull, most honorfull prays for him on earth and heavens
What a troll. Stop saying that. I know your religious but your against Science. I believe in a God, but I'm with Science too. Religion + Science = Peace.
@89990000 ,I just said as science and h quran says universe exepnding, universe was gas jaint,There are hure large amount of civilizations, creatures as h quran says, did i said wrong brother,
But, how do we know they arn't at the very beggining of evoloution? The "caveman" stage, if you preffer.
And, how could we comunicate with them? it'll be hard to speak english to them if there 2.5 million Lightyears away, and may not know we exist. For all we know, they could be extinct if andromeda is so old.
Also, what if they can't breathe oxygen?
But, science never ceases to amaze me. I think they'll figure it out some how.
and just think, there might be an earth like planet in the andromeda galixy, with astronamers looking out at the milky way observing us, wondering if life is here
@melodymx86 right in our own galaxy. And that is just the ones near us...so that means our galaxy is probably full of them. Our galaxy is full of earths...I can send you a message with the link to NASA's website on the subject if you like?
This is sick..With those photos it looks like that galaxy is near to us but no it's not..And so many''stars''we see is actually a Galaxy..Space is so Epic =) and we are tiny..
@Makaronimano I think of the scale of things when i'm sitting in my living room late at night. If the entire room is the universe, then our galaxy is a speck of dust floating there in space. Andromeda is another speck of dust a millimetre away from it. Then there are millions of other specks of dust floating around the room. And every speck of dust contains billions of stars! We can't even hope to leave our own star. What's the point in everything else being out there? Now i'm depressed!
@jegspillerpiano No reason to be depressed about it. Just remember that you have the knowledge, that most people lack, to be able to put yourself in perspective with Mother Nature, and our ever expanding Universe. It's a gift. Embrace it!
@jegspillerpiano thats quitter talk. who is to say what will be possible in a hundred two hundred, or a thousand years. at one point in time sailing all the way around the world was considered impossible.
The detailed images are interesting. But I wouldn't give you 2 cents for the description of Andromeda. Look at the most detailed pictures available when the present theories were proposed. The conventional ideas don't work anymore.
Put a lot of spin on a wet tennis ball. There's your galaxy formation. A child can understand it.

Not with our current knowledge of physics.

Unless the greys, the ancients or some other alien race shares their space travel tech with us, we ain't setting foot outside the MW.

@L0B03 I wouldn't be so sure...our own tech is expanding exponentially, 100 years ago if you told the average joe that we would fly to the moon he would of moved to the other side of the street fearing for his safety. Now look at us.

And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon." (5)
Say: "It (this Qur'ân) has been sent down by Him (Allâh) (the Real Lord of the heavens and earth) Who knows the secret
of the heavens and the earth. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (25:6)

Say: “Can any of your idols initiate creation, then revert it?” say “It is God who initiates the creation, and then reverts it.
Then, how could you deviate?” (10:34)
On that day We will fold the heaven, like the folding of a book. Just as We initiated the first creation, We will revert it.
This is Our promise. We will certainly fulfill it. (21:104)
When the earth will be shaken up. (56:4)
When the seas boil. (81:6)
When the seas are suffered to burst forth. (82:3)

Alif Lam Mim. (1) (This is) the revelation of the Book in which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the Worlds. (32:1)
Do not these disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were an integrated mass, which We then split,
and from water We made all living things? Will they not believe even then? (21:30)
With power did We construct Heaven. Verily, We are expanding it. (51:47)
And verily the Hour is coming, no doubt about it, and that God will resurrect those who are dead. (22:7)

“Say: ‘If all mankind and the jinn would come together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce its like even though they exerted all and their strength in aiding one another.’” (17:88)
“Or do they say that he has invented it? Say (to them), ‘Bring ten invented chapters like it, and call (for help)
on whomever you can besides God, if you are truthful.” (11:13)
Alif Lam Mim. (1) This Book has no doubt in it - a guidance for the God-fearing (1:2)

every time the narrator says "because" he is guessing, every time he says a number, any number, he's guessing.
Quindal 8 months ago
@Quindal Well if we didn't go to the moon, its the biggest hoax ever perpetuated. It must be the flouride in the water, right?
andmaketherain 5 months ago
@andmaketherain I realize you're a flat earther, and you think the entire cosmos exploded from a marble, i know you think that light is constant and time is relative, and that you think energy cannot be created. I realize you think you're the retarded offspring of monkeys, and they the retarded offspring of other animals all the way back to some murky shit in water. So, when I tell you that you're being poisoned mentally and physically by the very people you consider infallible, you scoff.
Quindal 5 months ago
@Quindal Oh, I realize the corporations are killing people, however what you think does not refute that humans have landed on the Moon. And yes, all science is only as good as the latest data. But for the other points you make, if you feel you have better proof and can replicate it, do it. Otherwise, your beliefs are not facts. And you should realize that without science, we would not be able to communicate in this manner.

@EagleTalon1970 True, I agree.

Makaronimano 1 year ago 87
@Makaronimano I think of the scale of things when i'm sitting in my living room late at night. If the entire room is the universe, then our galaxy is a speck of dust floating there in space. Andromeda is another speck of dust a millimetre away from it. Then there are millions of other specks of dust floating around the room. And every speck of dust contains billions of stars! We can't even hope to leave our own star. What's the point in everything else being out there? Now i'm depressed!
jegspillerpiano 10 months ago
@jegspillerpiano No reason to be depressed about it. Just remember that you have the knowledge, that most people lack, to be able to put yourself in perspective with Mother Nature, and our ever expanding Universe. It's a gift. Embrace it!
