hey im a guitar player who just loves taylor swift so its really fun to get together with some people and just jam to t swift tunes but i thought it may be helpful since you do a lot of her songs on here to tell people that most of her songs use the D A Em G progression with bridge of Em G D A... those progressions on various capos(she does tend to skip the D in the bridge the second time through too) she just loves it and its simple. if you know that you know more than half of her songs

yes it can be played on 4th fret with a capo with different chords, but this is just an alternative way of playing it

both ways are correct just whatever you find most comfortable playing with i would say =)

@MugenMajor The "Cmaj" he's talking about is actually an F#maj. This is easy to figure out. He has a capo on the 6th fret, so you count up 6 half steps above C, which brings you to F#. When the capo is on the 4th fret, and you play a "Dmaj" you're actually still playing a F# major which would be 4 half steps above Dmaj (counting the frets the capo is being held. You could play this song using barre chords with the 6th string as the root note: F# C# G#min and B. This song is in A major.

there is an easier way with no capo and the cord prgression of

D-A-Em-G for the whole song. its sounds good i think and you can paly around with the strum pattern alittle so it doesnt sound to boring.

@dPoncep you just transposed it to a different key. It's not a big deal, but if you play with the album or with someone who sings it in A major/F#minor it'll sound a little weird. The easiest non-capo way to play it in key without barre cords would be to tune your guitar up a half step. then play the chords of  F-C-Gm-A#

@iGoRawrsx try changing the way you stum down - only strum the first three strings (approx) in rhythm and then move your hand slightly to include the higher strings when you feel like it! i.e, You can strum more so on the higher notes when you strum harder in this kind of rythm - DA dum dum dum dum dum DA dum DA dum DA dum DA dum DA dum, (then change cord and repeat - for this song, DA being the harder strum!) if that makes any sense then your a better person than me!

If you get a pencil and a rubber band, you can make a homeade capo.

But if you go to ultimate guitar, there are some chords that sound decent with this song that don't require a capo.

CAPO. it er.. changes the pitch of the strings.

here's my advice. if you don't have one you can make one using a pencil and rubber bands. theres a pic of it in wikipedia under capo ;D. hope this helps.

Dm: your first finger (pointer finger) should be on the high e string (the highest string) on the first fret, your second finger (middle finger) should be on the G string (3rd string from the bottom)on the second fret, and your fourth finger should be on the B string (second from the bottom)

and theres your D minor
