  • Yeah, the cinematography is mahvelous. Breath-taking.

    Thanks for the clip.

  • can anyone please tell me how they did the shot of the train pushing forward the dolly -- wouldn't the impact of the train be to heavy en wreck anything in it's way, let along a camera? or is it CGI?

  • I don't really like this movie, but this scene is perfect

  • fort edmonton park train.

  • This is why Roger Deakins got nominated for an Oscar for Best Cinematography

  • whats the name of the song?

  • @yclept888 Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - The Money Train

  • and its not CGI

  • Probably the most ambitious film of all time! The director Andrew Dominik did a hell of a job! He really knew what to do with this film! And the film is immaculately crafted and well-acted! Especially by Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck and Sam Rockwell! Jeremy Renner did a pretty damn good job himself!

This train-robbery scene is, in my opinion, the most beautiful and poetic robbery-scene of all time! To quote a line from Aronofsky's Black Swan: It was perfect.

  • @Avatarare I have to agree. This is one of the most outstanding cinemagraphic scenes I've ever seen. I can't even imagine how someone would be able to get a shot like that. The film should have gotten the Oscar for cinematography on this scene alone, never mind the rest of the film which was also outstanding.

  • @DBMalone Amen to that!

  • I don't understand why this scene is so cool. Oh wait, it's because it's not.

  • @whiteboie79 You understand NOTHING about films!

  • then you're fucking stupid?

  • brad pitt and sam rockwell made this movie

  • @Femputerr Casey Affleck made this movie.

  • @killermod0 ur welcome. hey. when u see it, tell me what u think . i love feedback.

also u should see Hidalgo. its sorda a western. its a true story about Frank Hopkins who was the best long distance horse racer. he is invited to enter a 3000 mile race across the Arabian desert. its really good

stars Viggo Mortensen as Frank Hopkins

  • @calebinoutlook oh yeah I saw part of that, being chased by a big ass sand storm haha.

  • @killermod0 its a good movie. did u like it? or no

  • I remember seeing this in the cinema and the whole place was quiet from the beginning of the movie right to the end thats how you know a movie has really reached people on a spiritual level. So hypnotic and beautifully directed.

  • @MegaOsaro You mean this film actually screened in your area? ;-) I wanted to see it in the worst way, but had to wait for DVD on Netflix. Now even the History Channel (which, let's face it... rarely shows any history now) is showing the film. I guess the theaters in Syracuse had to make room for the latest release of some useless action/thriller which was probably forgotten the minute it left the theater.

  • The masks in this scene scare the shit out of me

  • gorgeous. just gorgeous

  • The best thing about this? This is probably the first time an image like this has been shot. The Old West becomes new. Great work by Roger Deakins.

  • 1:44 - 1:48 is my favorite.

  • ohmy gosh just watched this movie for the first time, this movie is amazing, and the cinematograhy is beyond beautiful, this movie should have won an oscar, it was incredible, and the soundtrack too.

best scence i've ever seeen. i'm in love :O

  • this sends shivers down my spine. truly an amazing piece of film. Those dudes look so creepy.

  • If ever you think the Academy Awards reward based on artistic merit, consider that Roger Deakins has never won. Best living cinematographer.

  • The train lights approaching Jesse through the darkness look like the classic image of death, that of an approaching white light. A Cinematic Masterpiece.

  • You can just feel the intensity. Great scene!

  • one of my favorite scenes -!!!!!

  • this is probably one of the best robbery scenes ever. im not saying other ones are bad, but this one is just amazing. i bet if you looked up the famous saying "the calm before the storm" it would say to watch this scene

  • i remember watching this scene for the first time....just so beautiful it really hit me for six!!

  • i love how they used the lights and shadow, not just in this scene but throughout the film
