My friend, Greg, got hurt last week fighting with a suspect who wasn't wanted for anything more than having an open container where he shouldn't have been.
Greg was only going to talk to him and give him a chance to leave the area, but the guy pushed him and ran.
After subduing the guy, Greg had to be taken to ER by ambulance. While they were loading him, he looked at the guy and said "You better be wanted for murder.'
thanks for calling me a dummy...I figure when the police are doing their job, I'd rather stay out of the way, especially when there are guns involved...I'd help if needed, but with too many bystanders and people getting in the way, I'd say it makes it more difficult for the police. And I were an officer I wouldn't be able to do as good a job if I had to worry about family members in the area that could possibly get hurt as well. I suppose I was concerned...not trying to be dumb...but thanks.
They wrestled with the guy near a creek in the woods, she just came down the street near the area. Not into the woods. That is also why the cops didn't shoot, it was very dark in real life.
how is it weird that the wife is there, thats just like an incident happening on your road and you go out to see whats goin on, and it were one of your family members, if you see something you go maybe in the end you could help out in a situation if someone needs to be indentified, heyyyyyyyyy DUMMY
The shooting of officer Nichols should have immediately prompted the other cops to blow the guy away!
That big duke-out could have been prevented easily by just shotting the villian.
If I was a cop which I'm not, I would have shot the guy even before the wrestling match with him began began.
No way a cop should need to wrestle a perp like that for so long, and there is no need to have to struggle so long in trying to cuff him and fight him to do so.
I'm not a cop but if I were I would have blown him away and not once but lots of shots! Then beat him into a bloody pulp with my sledge hammer! That bastard nearly killed that officer!
Aggravated assault!?! Please, he should have been charged with attempted murder on a police officer and locked up for life without so much as a second glance.
The only reason im here watchin this video right now is because i work with this dude/suspect (no names). He told me that they made an episode about him. He was not shot and the only reason he didnt get charged with attempted murder on a police officer was because the cops beat him up so badly that he sued them, and won. They dropped the charge to aggrivated assault. He served 9 years.. And he was on PCP at the time. The end.
If what u say is true, that's another place where the system is whacked up, no criminal should ever have to the right sue over anything that happens when he's committing a crime. Period. If he had not been stealing the car he would not have gotten the beat down he deserved. He put himself into that situation. He deserved whatever he got. The other guy surrendered right away and didn't get a beatdown.
a nightstick or flashlight to the nuts woulda ended that shit quick, but if they had the moral right to kill him why the fu/ck didnt they kill his ass????
The rescuers in the re-enactments are almost always the real people. Sometimes the victims and their families are played by actors, and sometimes they are the actual people.
Ok, I missed the fact that she was his wife. But although I understand her need to go and check, I still think it would've been safer to leave her son in the house.
And, I agree with everyone who said they should've shot the suspect.
The son was 14 at the time and probably wouln't have stayed "locked" anywhere. He would want to find out what happed also. And it was much darker in real life and too many innocent people involved at that point to shoot; in the dark.
I don't really understand why that woman is down there. Even if she knows and is close to the officer, there is a dangerous, unsubdued suspect who has just shot someone and has a gun at the time she's out there... and she wants to hang out there with her son and watch? I'd be taking my kid and locking him in the house to make damn sure he couldn't get hurt. Maybe I'm missing something.
i remember an epiosde of "top cops" where a cop in a 70s corvette is chasing a 79 T/A after 2 guys shoot a store owner, and he ends up at the wrong end of a .357 and sticks his finger in the trigger guard just like that cop did in this video
Exactly, I would think they were working on it. That is the problem. If you are casual enough in your manner you can get away with just about anything. xoxo
It sounded like the clerk said, "And the guy says it's not cool" in the 911 call. I took that to mean clerk knew the suspects were doing something illegal because the car's owner was in the store and told him to call the cops.
It's PCP (or one of the other street drugs) that will give a person what appears to be super-human strength. A 100 lb tiny lady can suddenly not be a lady, but take 6 strong men to hold down. I wonder how PCP manages to make people so stong when they are on it?
Really, it looked like they were trying all they could to prevent the suspect from firing anymore shots with the gun while at the same time trying to hold the guy down. I highly doubt they could have gone so far as to reach down to their holsters while in a big pile of bodies like that to reach for their gun to shoot the suspect with...
Aggravated Assault means you knowingly, willingly, and in a thought of method, attacked a person a second time. Punching somebody a 2nd time, shooting a gun a 2nd time, could be constituted as aggravated assault. Say you were in a fistfight. You punch them once, it's "simple assault" because you did hit them, but the courts don't hold much value on that hit. But, you punch them again, you had at least 1/2 a second to think about hitting them and you did it again.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard... Aggravated assault means you used a weapon when you assaulted someone... Punching someone would be simple assault... Punching someone with brass knuckles would be aggravated assault... Shooting someone with a gun would thusly be aggravated assault too... It has nothing to do with "doing it a 2nd time"!
In this case, there's several instances. Now only did he think about resisting arrest from 1 cop by fighting, he did it with 2 other cops. Also, he shot the cop and was pulling the trigger over and over again, it was just the cop blocking the trigger to keep him from shooting. If not, he would've shot again and again.
Even though the responded ambulance was from Taylor Hospital, which is owned by the Crozer Keystone Health care System, they rushed him to the Crozer Chester Medical Center. Where the ambulance pulled up is our old E.R, which is partially demolished and in its place is a NEW E.R. and a parking garage with a Life Flight Helipad.

Damn! That has got to hurt. I hope the suspect rots in jail for what he did. In my opinion, if you shoot an officer, and attempt to kill him/her, you shouldn't be able to walk the streets again. I hope he got life in prison for that.

I wish they had shot that 2nd car stripper. It should not have gotten to the point where Officer Nichols had gotten shot.
A rediclous LONG wrestling match with a guy drugged up making him lightning mast and super he-man needs to be shot in the head.
It would have been great if he had gotten the death penalty, and Officer Nichols got the honor to flick the electric chair switch.
The very first time I saw this on CBS, I was actualy scared for the cops because the guy was so aggresive.

How anybody can find the damn nerve to sue someone, after HE shot a person, is beyond my wildest imagination.
How they can win the case is a statement of how pathetic certain areas of the legal system have become. Positively pathetic.

What exactly is PCP or whatever made him so strong??
I have never taken any street drugs in my life, but I am curious.
Do certain drugs realy give one he-man strength like that???
Is it something to do with adrenalin.
With lot's of adrenalin, we can do incredible things.
Remember the segment on here with David Bell lifting up that truck so the little girl could be pulled out from under it??
That was a super strong guy....
I don't think he was on PCP to lift that truck.
happy7117 3 years ago 3
PCP was created as an anesthetic, but was discontinued b/c of its adverse side effects.
The drug activates N-methyl D-aspartate (NMDA), a major receptor in the brain that causes excitable responses and unnatural, increased strength.
Since there are so many analogs, (knockoff versions) of PCP, users rarely survive an overdose.
The guy who lifted the truck was overcome with a rush of adrenaline, created by the condition known as 'fight or flight.'
I hope that helps.
