is there a reason why sometimes you play at the top of the key? Is it just to make reaching other keys easier or does it change the sound? sorry to question you, I'm new at playing the piano.

@FaythKiller Well, the idea is to make it an easier reach, but the result, if done wrong, can be a change of sound. just put your hand flat on a table once and you will see that your thumb and pinky won't reach even close to where your other three fingers reach. But you shouldn't copy exactly where I hit the keys, just find the most comfortable position for yourself. But it is a correct piano technique
