  • Thank you for your comment and I really don´t want to seem bitter but inspite of my catholic upbringing, my pretty strict catholic parents, my children going to a catholic school, I live in Mexico which is 99% catholic, I don´t believe in Jesus, or the bible, or the Pope or anything that has to do with religion.

I guess I wasn´t really convinced. I´ve seen and heard a lot of things that should never happen in a catholic community since you´re supposed to live according to the bible.

  • @imabruab Thanks for being open about your beliefs. One thing you can be sure of is that God loves you right where you are. You don't have to be good, holy or want him to love you. He just does. And because he does he wants to have a relationship with you, which is the most awesome experience, speaking from my own personal experience. I will pray for you that the day will come when you will open the door of your heart and let him in. Your life will never be the same. Take care,

  • @pauljosephherman Don´t get me wrong, I DO believe in God, He has given me much more than I deserve.

Twenty six years ago He blessed me with the best present I could ever expect... I have a 26 year old son. Then, 2 years later God blessed me again.. I have a beautiful daughter. And I thank HIM everyday.

  • @imabruab Consider that even the Devil believes in God. To be saved, one needs to confess he is a sinner and ask Jesus to save them from their sins. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to be Lord of your life. Then, aspire to be His disciple. You will be a new creation in Christ. That is the Good News of the Bible. You cannot earn salvation, it is a free gift of God who sent His only begotten Son to pay the debt of our sins.

  • Another day I was talking to my brother in spanish, I was asking him if he was going to his friend´s house after school or straight home so that we could walk home together, We weren´t saying anything bad about anyone. One of the nuns yelled at us: "YOU´RE IN AMERICA, SPEAK ENGLISH!!" that very day the same nun was talking to another nun in polish, my brother stoodup to them and said the exact same thing: "You´re in America, speak english". Nice memories.

  • @imabruab Thanks for sharing those stories. Anyone who went to Catholic school probably has a few. Although you don't have to be a nun to be a teacher who goes over board with the discipline. You can be a regular teacher and be just as over the top. We have laughed at some adults we occasionally work with who are overly strict and don't have a clue in how to relate to teens. I hope somewhere along the line you meet a nun who really knows Jesus and how to share his love.

  • I went to St. Joe´s, from 1964 to 1972. I don´t know if there are still "nun-teachers" but let me tell you THEY WERE SCARY!! Man, they were really mean. My parents are mexican, I was born in Chicago. My father wanted us to have a good catholic education. BOY WAS HE WRONG!! One day, I really don´t remember what I did wrong, I used to be a very shy kid, hardly ever spoke, that day a nun screamed at me saying "GO BACK TO PUERTO RICO, WE DON´T NEED YOU HERE!" Talk about loving one another!
