  • My headers are 2 seperate pieces, so they meet at the collector to one 3" pipe. The way you have it is fine, and there is no more increse in power after a 3" pipe, so theres no advantage going any bigger, I was just trying to give you some info from what I have learned from fellow BMW club racers ,mechanics and tuners, I had several configurations including yours, there is only so much power to get out of the exhaust system after that you just look for ways to reduce weight.

  • The trackpipe is simple, easy bolt in replacement for cats and increases the power some, however,if you eliminate the trackpipe and custom weld the dual pipes that will give you a bit more power ,or better yet a single 3" pipe welded to the collector back will give you even better gains. The hot setup is no track pipe, custom headers and a single 3" to a 3"inlet muffler, I have had all setups dyno'd and the what I have now dynod the best, quite a bit more than the dual pipes.

  • @TrackratM3 i understand how you could think that but i am about to do an exhaust on my m and i thought of it like this, the biggest catback you would probably do on one of these cars is 2 2.5 in pipes into the muffler and so on but think of it 2.5 + 2.5 = 5in so if you do a 3 inch it seems you would loose power i would go 2 straight 2.5 pipes

  • why two pipes go into one and after front exhaust two pipes again??

the power should decrease i think
