  • Hi, treelobber here.got in touch with you a few days ago, and thanks for the speedy reply.I am doing well with "god only knows"Lot of work involved...phewww.I am from South Wales,U K, after i complete the song i want to put together a video for family in Vancouver B C. would you know what format i need to convert to, in order for them to play it on dvd in Canada?Hope you can help. Thanks my friend.

  • @treelobber -- A DVD Authoring program will convert your video to mp2 before burning the disk. I believe "Flicker" is a free authoring program you can download.

  • @kevinwayne50 -- I have Windows XP on a Dell XPS desktop that's 3 or 4 years old. A Pentium (R) D?? CPU , 2.8 GHz, and 2 GB of RAM. Thanks for listening!

  • thanks for this great tutorial. I've just recorded voice and guitar at the same time with audacity...what an eye and ear opener..i loved the finished song as well..kinda like Rod Stewart becomes a sound engineer!

  • your videos are well usefull,i didn't really understand the potential of audacity till your videos.the song sounds good too.

  • I have to agree an excellent set of videos, you make it all look so easy lol

  • Very few people would attempt to recreate such a complex song. You have done an excellent job with it. Obviously, you know Audacity incredibly well. I know that I'll be coming back to your videos for reference often, as I am new to Audacity. I'm sure that others beside myself have gained much inspiration from your efforts, I thank you very much!

  • You can convert thiss or any youtube video to an mp3 at ezmp3grab..com

  • this was a relaly good set of videos, i don't use audacity anymore but i remember going through this kind of stuff...now i use fl studio and my life is much easier :D though the same sorta principals are still used

  • I haven't run across a better video for a musician on how to multi-track using audacity....if anyone knows please let me know.......hats off to dvmovie for this.

  • this is great :))

  • I was looking for a multi-track demo and found your effort. I really had fun watching you have fun with this... and you knew how to relax the beat, too... your showing how you peeled the layers of this was wonderful. Thanks for spending the time and sharing it. Now what will I do with what you taught me?? Here comes my fun! Thank you. :)

  • great work ! I'm trying to start learning to use my set up with audacity! 5big *****

  • I only use Audacity to produce a voice soundtrack with bed music for video but this presentation has given me an appreciation of what can be done with Audacity and I've made it a favourite so that I can use it as a reference tool. I'll also be enjoying the performance. Congratulations to both you and your wife. You are not only a great technician but you both sing very well.

  • are you telling me i could have been doing more with my free audacity than just convert my vinyls to mp3? dammit.

  • Awesome job! Thanks for letting us spy while you work.

  • Thanks a lot for all that you did. The Sound is fantastic!

  • AMAZING enjoyed watching every part of the video and you should just make a video of just the song you made coz i really like it=D haha

    great job!!

  • Interesante...

  • Great! Check my work on George Harrison "Window Window", please and leave coment-Walrusz

  • It just goes to show what Brian Wilson was TRULY capable of.

I wouldn't doubt that he heard most of this at the same time and just pulled each bit and piece out of his head - kinda like you did.

    Fantastic.

  • wow very good work i have adobe audition 1.5 it is has why more filters and fx than audacity and i was like omg wht you did hear sound like you was in a 100.00 stodio 5 stars for you have anymore vidios like to see and hear im

  • Well done , must have taken a long time to analyse and re-create, it just shows what can be done and pretty cheaply too.

I'd love to hear some original stuff

  • great job. thanks for sharing! CLASSIC TUNE!

  • great tutorial! thank you for posting this.. two thumbs up!!!

  • Very good. That must have taken a long while to do. I work with audacity as well. You know more tricks than I do.

  • Greatest song EVER written

  • heh, I'm only 21 and I agree with you on that.

    Also, great tutorial.

  • Yeah and Paul McCartney's fav too:D

  • Very nice job, well done

  • Turned out nice. Well done!

  • That was great. Well done, and a huge thanks for sharing with us all how you did this. You're singing is actually well suited to this track. Have you ever experimented with MIDI though? Now if only I could sing, I'd record a few songs I've written ;)

  • thanks for sharing the process, techniques, and tips--very helpful!

  • by the way, how long did it take you to go from start to finish (and I don't mean that visual thing at the end - just the music)?

  • I worked on it an hour or two a day for a couple weeks. So, it probably took me about 20 hours. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Fantastic tutorial, very educational. I am surprised that audacity could do so much so well. If it were not for you, I wouldn't think that much of it, but you can do some awesome stuff. Thank you so much for that.

  • Have you ever used Sony Acid? It costs money but allows you to use A LOT more effects and flexability than audacity does.

  • Good job...I learned a few things from you. Thanks.

  • Hey really good job!

thanx so much for helping me wit this

  • awesome vids, thanks!

  • i've been using audacity for a little while now, but i need 2 hands to count the number of new things i learned about it from your videos. thanks a lot, this was great.

  • Exelent Job, I really enjoyed it very much thank you... Have you done any experimenting with VST?

    -Dave

  • Haven't tried the VST effects yet. Hope to get around to it soon. Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it! Steve
