I think the more slender dogs are some type of hound or Great Dane, which of course will look emaciated next to a huge Mastiff. I don't believe these dogs are starved because if they were they would be jumping up and fighting each other for food, instead their behavior is very calm. For people criticizing the kennels, I own four Mastiffs, and they hate being indoors. They sleep in my house at night, but really prefer being in the yard.

Great Danes are naturally very skinny dogs. I've owned one, and we tried "fat balls" to fatten him up. They did no good, he gained maybe 5 more pounds...and still looked the same. I have an English Mastiff, and these boys and girls are looking quite healthy for the not-so-great living conditions they're in. Sometimes people don't have the room for them, and they live outside. I don't agree with this breed living outside, but at least they're being taken care of.

Yep I have to say, reading some of the these comments, while I see the yard is pretty clean, there is a dog in there with a MASSIVE growth on the back of its front leg....i'm pretty sure thats neglect. Maybe a lot of people missed it because it goes by pretty quick but its there. In any case, puppy mill or not, thats a lot of dogs, more than you need? Its not rational to have that many. I have resqued many many dogs and I own 4 myself. Most of those were agressive emaciated and badly abused when I got um. All of these dogs seem well fed and and I'm sure they are loved but having so many cuts down on personal attention that they need.If they are kept in that pen all the time when do they get to feel grass under their feet or an open place they can just run.If he wants to continue breeding perhaps he could find homes for more of the pups and keep fewer(ya know spread the love)

Please educate yourself on what a puppy mill actually is. Once you do so you will realize that this is in NO WAY a puppy mill and to make that accusation is just plain ignorant. The clip shows many different breeds being polite at feeding time. They have the animal under control and by the looks of it happy and healthy. Puppy mills keep there dogs in cages to small for them to even move. Trust me I have rescued mastiff's from them and it is heartbreaking.

That "massive growth on his elbow" is the exact same growth my 200lb Neo has on his elbow. Although I buy him two thick quilts to sleep on (1 down filled and 1 wool) he still has a large growth on his right elbow because that is the elbow he leans on the most. It is just a cushion that grows to take the pressure off the tremendous weight on their elbows while laying down. These dogs are definitely well fed and seem quite content. This is not an easy breed to own.

This is not a puppy mill. He is a small private breeder of Neapolitan Mastiffs. Actually, the breeder is royalty of some sort, he is suppose to be king or prince of Italy. This setting is behind his very old Mansion in Italy. He does not sell many of his dogs. He keeps about 90% of the litter himself, hence the so many dogs.

Most of these dogs, especially the Mastiffs, would eat 24/7 if given the choice. They eat A LOT. Just because they seem hungry doesn't mean they're being starved... it means they wanna eat. If they were being starved they'd be a hell of a lot more aggressive because they'd feel the need to protect their food from the other dogs--which means that fights would break out constantly. All the dogs in that video seemed pretty damn happy and not aggressive in the least.
