They fly low and travel through radar blind spots (caused by terrain, buildings or distance from the radar). In fact, they fly so low I can't help but wonder if they would stop and ask for directions if they get lost... This reduces warning, to ensure that your target is still there when the missile arrives.
@RustyBiscut No because the Tomahawk cruise missles are designed to change their target system with a computer and they can change direction at any time.
Wtf million dollars? There 700k each if there TLAM's. They can change course after launch via JTIDS/Link 16. But your right i'd have them impacting in 3 minute intervals or something. One burst of AAA can take them all out.
Humm, I didn't know cruise missiles had the capability of joining up in flight and flying in formation.
That's new to me. Wouldn't it be smarter to have them go their separate ways (and avoid a lucky burst from a ZSU-23 that takes them all out) but programmed to hit the target at the same time?
they are possibly flying too low and at such a high speed. the Zues would not react in time to intercept. But yea they can be programmed to fly in formation, they have the ability to loiter even. Ur right tho, tight formations could wipe out the whole bunch..
