I would imagine Ginger would understand 'emphasis' and have a clear idea of what he wants to say within the context....it is what it is, let it it breathe and move on...I enjoyed it! Who said it was meant to be 'JAZZ"

Ginger Baker playing jazz is just a total embarrassment. This is the single worst jazz drumming I have ever heard played with top level jazz musicians. Haden and Frisell should be ashamed for taking this gig and validating this junkie fool.

@gretschjazzer I'm not sure I'd go as far as you do, but Ginger Baker playing jazz is like a Japanese guy speaking English. He may mispronouce a few words here and there, put the emPHAsis on the wrong sylLABle, and screw up the idioms, but you have to give him credit for making himself understood in a non-native language.
@societyforrealmusic Haden has done a lot of great work with electric players. Check out his duet work with Jim Hall and Pat Metheny, in addition to Frisell.

Heard this as a new preview on Cleveland WCPN 90.3 on the way to work night shift. Punched in and went back to my car to listen to the rest of the feature cuts. Went out the next day and bought it.

Yes! There are 2 (at least) records under the name of Ginger Baker Trio. The first one 'Going Back Home' is in my opinion the better of the two.
