Why are we just letting new crap music get the best of rock. We can't loose this genre. Come on people do something. Am I the only one in kid in school who likes rock?
Always thought the harder darker stuff was the best Journey material. Neal really shines on this one, but when doesn't he? But he really rips on this one.
I wanna hear Arnel singing the songs on this album :P and a few from ROR; specially suzanne, and why can't this night go on forever. PS:not an Arnel hater by the way, just love Steve.
Being a musician, I am a firm believer that one of the signs of a band that has achieved greatness, is the ability to have a whole catalog of songs that are "hits" that haven't received "hits" consideration...Journey in my estimation are the greatest band ever at producing more amazing songs that were lesser known that were on par, if not better than their more popular material...the case holds true in almost all of their albums during the perry and post perry era...songwriting masters:)
@triactorpat I've never listened to a journey album where i didn't enjoy most of it...so many bands in the history of music have released albums of 10 songs and you get the standard "2" that are the hits, and the rest of the album is "filler" crap...Journey has never let me down in regards to their attention to detail and creating inspiring ear grabbing music...even their albums with Steve Augeri and Arnel are works of art regardless of the vocal debate...Perry is "the voice" however:)
Edge Of The Blade and Troubled Child are my favorite tunes on this album. I can still remember buying it out of my grade 8 graduation money. Damn, the memories are flooding back as I listen to this...wow.
any other greatest hit albums of the greatest hit bands...only one or two greatest hit singles and...nothing...to have value to listen to...but journey...has more and more...
Journeys rockers remind me a lot of Triumph! One of the other greatest bands of my lifetime since I was born in 76. If you have not heard Triumph please listen to them on youtube.
one of the best journey songs... the thing about them is that they get your attention by opening with the big hit single, but they keep it going real well.
Before I thought that after the fall of the Frontiers was the best but now I know what is the best track on this album amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I saw the title of this song it made me think of Steve Perry slaying a dragon with a sword.
