The judge told Ashton on Saturday to depose the witness so that he can have him testify today and Ashton turned him away. Baez still wanted to put him on the stand but Ashton objected. The judge heard Ashton's argument and he also heard Baez' I bet you he decided to have the witness deposed today so that tomorrow he can take the stand and Baez may still be sanctioned but not as severly.

A lot of people deal with stress/fear in a lot of different ways, and maybe hers is simply not acknowledging the huge weight on her shoulders. I think she's guilty and I think she should serve life in prison, but I can't judge her for smiling or talking. I agree, if aston turned away witnesses, that's on him. he knows that baez hasn't been at this long, it's only his second major case, and aston is totally using the states obvious bias against baez. i do think it's wrong to turn away a witness that shows up to be deposed, just so you can hang baez out to dry the next morning in court.
