and its not all about averages. For example dravid,kallis have similar records to ponting. Yousuf too albeit for a shorter duration. Sanga and jaya too although nearly all their runs ard in sub con. Thats why after lara and sach only punter has been recognised genuine great. He has a certain authority.

Dear a test match is won by the whole team especially the bowlers, what a batsman can do is contribute by his bat. Sachin has done that always, consistantly. Its because of Hayden, gilchrist ,warne ,mcgrath ,lee, Hussey Australia have won so much. If ponting played without all these players, then the results wouldnt have looked great. We all know Lara's greatness,but when the team became mediocre even he couldnt do anything.Ponting is overrated.

Kallis in victories has an outstanding record both with bat and bowl , 169 wickets at 23.58 with 5591 runs at 65.01 shows his class , i am sure most of current bowlers wont have such bowling averages in victories , as i said i just dont work up stats like many (Specific player) fans , i check all situations , Any person who understands true test cricket will agree with my opinion , even i hate pontings attitude .

Mate if you check i said Kallis should be rated as the best cricketer cuz he won matches not only on his batting basis but also through his bowling , i am not against sachins records but as i said Ponting and Kallis have scored more runs in 4th innings when their team was in a horrible position and went on to win it. now i dont think bowlers come and score runs , If i was like you i could have easily said that scoring on flat tracks is a childs game

oo yea ?? Flat tracks are associated to Sub-continent . Pitches in SA generate more pace , swing and bounce on 4th and 5th day than sub continental pitch on day 1 , since 2007 India have played 90% of matches in sub continent (They have every right to do that) , i dont think SA , Aus (after warne) had any better spinners than india , secondly the ball BCCI uses loses its swing way too early than the one used why Rest of boards so no swing after 15 overs
