They may have been more physical, but the players were without a doubt scoring more back in the day (also due to different offensive rules). Every team was over 100 PPG. Check it out season by season on basketball-reference if you dont beleive me. Click on leagues and go year by year

If you left any one open run down the court because it was 2 or 3. Unlike today where you have a lot of great athletes who lack great basketball skill. Most players today couldn't score if they were hand checked, you can't hedge a guy all the way through the lane anymore, can't "root out" in the block. The game today is made for fan enjoyment...

People who don't think Lebron would have dominated 10-15-20 years ago are absolutely ridiculous. I defy you to name another athlete ever who has a better combination of speed, size, and strength. Lebron is 6'9" 275lbs (don't believe the listed numbers). He probably runs a 4.4 40 (ran a 4.5 as a 15 year old) and has a minimum 44 inch vertical. Don't forget, even though this is his 7 yr, he's only 25. As for all you nostalgic over evaluators, how the hell could Larry Bird guard him.

@ElbowBalls I'm not saying that Larry Bird could have guarded him but defenses were much better back in the day. Much better centers. Don't forget basketball was much more physical. What we are watching is watered down defense compared to years ago.
