  • Color doesn't exist in darkness tho :o It can only be with light

  • woah... that... was... uhh... whats the word? oh ya. AWSOME!

  • Did y'all notice a lot of the song has the same tune as Caring Hands?

  • im not crying. theres just something in my eye.

  • the almost kiss kills me inside. god i love dr. horrible.

  • After I started watching How I Met Your Mother I can only see Neil as Barney :P Neil is a god

  • Was I the only one that noticed how they were both going colser to each other at the end

  • KISS, DAMNIT. KISS.

  • I'm singing this for the school talent show <3

  • They should have kissed!!!!!!!

  • Dr Horrible = Megamind Broadway Musical can't wait for the sequel

  • omg i love this! i saw theacts and i was like< ;o

  • 2 people have it worse around than anyone.

  • "Oh, look at my wrist, I have to go!"

  • I know what Dr. Horrible is going through except it's not plot like that. Penny's song speaks to me.

  • two people going to burn

  • head up billy buddy

  • penny's song makes me happy wen im sad

  • This is my all time favorite song in this film, which is my all time favorite movie

  • I wish they kissed. =[

  • i love how in "Slipping" before shooting the death ray toward Captain Hammer he says " head up Billy buddy" :D adorable but damn Hammer

  • I wanna hit that asshole with a hammer -_-''

  • @TheEvilJellyfish666 Yeah, but don't forget that "these are not the hammer". Take care of what you say !

  • So keep your head up Billy, buddy. <3 <3 <3

  • @SniperkingSogeking04 but you're not suppose to feel happy about it, Captain Hammer is suppose to have the 'villainous' attitude for us to sympathize with Dr. Horrible. Stil not meaning he should have been killed, if Dr. Horrible was to have killed Captain Hammer we wouldn't see him as a likeable character. All the way through we become attached to Dr. Horrible because he has 'evil' intentions but tries to go the nice way around it i.e. he doesn't want to kill. I guess he is a anti-villain!

  • @c10wd5 Exactly. Dr. Horrible's a sympathetic villain while Captain Hammer is the classical definition of an anti-hero (a hero who doesn't have the archetypal heroic qualities...like respect for women). That's what makes this show so good, because one's intentions are heroic (even things out, change status quo) while the other one's actions are heroic (Captain Hammer DOES save the city from Dr. Horrible).

  • @captLizzie Dr. Horrible became a supervillain because he wanted to change the world. Captain Hammer became a superhero because he wanted to flex his muscles and act superior to everyone.

It's normally the other way around.

  • I would listen to her sing the phonebook.

  • Her high notes are absolutely beautiful.

  • @SniperkingSogeking04 HAMMER MAN?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?! that's Captain Hammer to you!! and no Captain Hammer shouldn't die, a evil villain like Dr Horrible needs a legendary nemesis like Captain Hammer!

  • @c10wd5 I'm just saying that if Dr Horrible had a nemesis that was LESS of a dick like Hammer Man (Hammer man was what Penny called him in "A Man's Gotta Do") I'd be a little happier with him having an enemy that tries stealing the love of his life...

  • Well...If Hammer Man isn't a dick I don't know what one is...

Like this is you agree that Dr Horrible needs to kill Hammer Man!

  • @SniperkingSogeking04 I hate captin hammer hes just one of those people who thing there better then everyone else when really hes nothing but a big crybaby

  • @XOkamiAmaterasu Exactly! The only reason he wins against Dr Horrible is cuz Dr Horrible isn't as physically strong as Captain Hammer...Otherwise he's like a little kid: loud, self-centered, and very grabby...

  • @SniperkingSogeking04 Yay someone who thinks like i do! :)

  • @XOkamiAmaterasu Woot! Great minds think alike! :D

  • no, youre not

  • She's wearing snow white colors... im not the only one who noticed right?

  • Dr.horrible is awesome

  • 1:06 - Penny touches his leg; Billy would've reacted to that :P

  • i love dr. horrible. he is so truely sweet, while hammer is just a big dick. <3 dr. horrible foeva!

  • this is one of my fave songs!!!! its so sad but hopefull

  • This song is too wonderful.

  • The grammatical error is actually very much stylistic to indicate herself as the girl in said story. I'm sure if it were in an English essay, this would have been cited - however, there is no such requirement for songs.

  • The grammatical error is actually very much stylistic to indicate herself as the girl in said story.

  • Penny isn't a very grammatically correct character.

  • @TakenInStride Not great at rhyme schemes, either.

  • i <3 felicia day

  • That girl is the kind of gem that can purify almost any soul (...except Captain Hammer's....)

  • Wow, you suck 2 people.

  • Am I the only one who is bugged by the sudden inexplicable shift from third person to first person in the middle of the first line? It should be "meant for her", not "meant for me"

  • @3243F6A8885 It shouldn't the song's about her.

  • @AfroandBlondy That doesn't excuse the horrible grammar.

  • @3243F6A8885 But it's not an error if it's about her.

  • @AfroandBlondy It's an error for a pronoun to have a different case than the antecedent, even if they are referring to the same person.

  • @3243F6A8885 True, but when has poetry ever really been strictly grammatical? They put meter and rhyme above grammar, which I'm okay with. It is a little jarring, but it'd be hard to find another way of doing that line.

  • @3243F6A8885 It's not a grammatical error.

I would be written like this:

Here's a story of a girl who grew up lost and lonely, thinking love was fairy tale, and "trouble was made only for me". The phrase could have been quoted by Penny, and thus she is just saying the girl's words.

In which case the grammar is just fine.

  • @Sasukhana I never thought of that. I guess it kind of makes sense then.

  • @3243F6A8885 Grammar doesn't work the same way with song as it does with prose. The history of music is replete with songs having "incorrect" grammar. The point of a song is to convey thoughts or feelings accompanied by music that echoes these. The same suspension of rules applies to poetry (as in the works of e.e. cummings). In any case, it didn't prevent this movie from gaining several awards - including one for songwriting.

  • @3243F6A8885 No it shouldn't, because she is telling him SHE is that girl.

  • Anyone in or around the Kingston, Ontario area wanting to see a LIVE production of Dr. Horrible with a live band send me a message for details!

  • @MegaBaustelle sorry, what?

  • THAT ONE DISLIKE IS CAPTIN HAMMER! BECAUSE THEY ALMOST KISSED!

  • interestingly, this is prophetic. "Every drop of rain will keep you growin' seeds you're sowin' in the ground." Dr. Horrible is not sowing good stuff...

  • oh no.....someone had so many tears blurring their vision they accidentally hit the dislike button! sucks.....

  • Neil and Nathan act so well together B) NPH should have at least guest starred in Firefly, but it was awesome even without him. Heh

  • GOD DAMN IT. HIS FACE. IT BREAKS MY HEART. ;_;

  • Am I the only one that sees some Snow White in her outfit?? XDXD

  • @MaiDarkAngel Nope you sure aren't! *high-five*

  • @MaiDarkAngel its symbolize we talked about it in english calla. it makes her symbloize innnocence & goodness

  • @MaiDarkAngel I believe they talk about that in the commentary, not Commentary:The Musical, but the real commentary. :)

  • These lyrics are amazing! "Every day of rain brings water flowing to things growing in the ground" :D

  • "Anytime you're hurt, there's one who has it worse around." sad but true :(

  • they almost kissed... DAMN YOU CAPTAIN HAMMER!!!!

  • Oh, that chemistry at the end... *sigh* It's okay. That's why there's fanfiction. :-D

  • Can't take credit for spotting this, but notice pennies clothing. Does it remind you of a certain disney belle. Snow White? Coincedence? Possibly, but it makes sense.

  • @inticlark felicia day said she got a lot of comments about that and it was just coincidence

  • @inticlark I actually just noticed that yesterday! I was at the CSTS thing, and they played this after Serenity, and I was like... She looks like Snow White :O!

  • "I just want to succeed, like Bad horse..." "The Thoroughbred of sin?!" "I meant Ghandi..."

  • There isn’t enough alcohol in Kentucky to make that bitch more fuckable - she is at the top.

  • About to kiss, and!!! It's like captn hammer always says... Why?!?!?!

  • Aww, they'd be so cute together. If only it had worked out. DAMN CAPTIAN HAMMER.

  • dam Capt Hammer

  • they would make the best gay/straight couple ever.

  • i can honestly say for once in my life, i hate the hero!!! SCREW YOU CAPTAIN HAMMER!!

  • God, she has an amazing voice!

  • *sigh*

    I miss Penny. :(

(I reserve the right to miss any fictional character at my own discretion, thank you.)

  • josh whedon + felicia day+ neil patrick Hariss= dr hoprrible = aweosme

  • 'Even in the darkness every colour can be found...'

What a beautiful sentiment, it's really nice :3

  • So in love with Felicia Day's voice, I would even buy her album, if she released one!

  • @postmodernchris

you should check out (if you havent already) "do you want to date my avatar"

  • Anyone catch the "So keep your head up Billy, buddy" brought back later in Slipping? "It's gonna be bloody, head up, Billy, buddy..."

  • @GetsuakaKato Yeah, I did. I didn't notice it until I'd heard the song a few times, though.

  • @GetsuakaKato no thanks for pointing that out. Even when he goes all evil he still cares.

  • Yeah and at the pivotal moment where he's about to use the death ray on Hammer, you see his face full of hesitation. I'm not even sure whether he can pull the trigger in the end even without the power supply going out.

  • yeah, thats how she finds out that Billy is Dr. Horrible, if you notice, when it cuts back to her, she's mouthing the words "Billy Buddy"

  • Caught that this time around, yep. Poor guy.

  • I love this song, it got me through some tough times.

  • Who knew the rest of Joss Whedon's family was so talented?

  • Does Felicia Day really sing this? Somehow her singing voice just doesn't seem to fit her.

Either way, this is a beautiful song and she's a great actress :D

  • Yeah it's her, she's a great singer.

  • They almost kissed, damn you Capt. Hammer.

  • i kno!

  • @egraseidannogew that BITCH

  • I could hear her sing all day and never get tired of it.

  • I love Penny! She has such an amazing voice! =D
