lol I never noticed this until now, but there's a line going down the middle of the table where it splits at. Pause at 1:59 to see it unless you can catch it on the way through. They show it for about a split second
@clock02 That's interesting, because I thought the term "Hung Gar" meant "Hung Family" style, while "Hung Quan" was the Mandarin version of "Hung Kuen" which means "Hung Fist."
@44excalibur: yes, I am well aware. But I think Hung Gar (aka. Hung Family) is just a name for Hung Kuen (aka. Hung Fist) in Cantonese. They're indeed one and the same thing. Hung Kuen originates from Southern Siu Lam at the time when the government destroyed the temple. So Hung Hei Gun, a Siu Lam disciple, returned to his hometown and taught the Siu Lam Fist play, but changing its name to Hung Fist instead. Other people, seeing this style originates from the Hung family, calling it "Hung Gar".
I have been practicing the Hung style ever since I was a child. I can tell you that Hung Gar and Hung Guan are indeed the same thing.

Isn't this actually Wing Chun vs. Hung Gar? Is Hung Quan another word for it?

@44excalibur Hung quan is the mandarin pronunciation for hung gar. Hung gar is a cantonese dialect pronunciation of the style.

@anhkhoashevakt I read that they meant different things. "Gar" = "Family" and "Kuen" = "Fist." "Chuan" is the Mandarin for "fist."
