Queensland has the "chocolate box" iconography that international tourists need, good weather (yes some rain but better for beach holidays than any other state). You wouldn't go for a beach holiday in Victoria, with 19C summer water temps! you need other activities. The ad is promoting relaxed warm beach holidays and they have beautiful beaches in abundance.

I've lived throughout Australia and Queensland isn't where Australia shines, literally and metaphorically. It's overcast or raining about 40% of the time and the only places that receive any attention by tourism campaigns are stuck 20 years in the past or full of bogans.

The audio says 'Where Australian's Shine' yet the text at the end says 'Where Australia Shines'.

I'm not too keen on States promoting themselves while demoting other states (implying that Australian's cannot shine in NSW for instance) but at least have consistency.

As a global campaign, there needs to be a more compelling message. Americans and Canadians can get all of the imagery shown here for a fraction of the cost in the Carribean. English and Europeans can get it cheaper in Spain, Costa Rica or the Med. Asian market can get it in Thailand etc for less cost. So what is the compelling reason to visit Queensland? Another one size fits all campaign that doesn't quite connect with anyone really.
