I live about 1 mile from the actual home that was used for all the exterior shots of the Brady home for the show (Studio City, CA) and adult people still go out of their way to view this house to this day... I ask friends when they come to visit, and they always want to ride past the old Brady House. Somethings from our childhood stay embeded in our memorys... not everyone understands this. You seriously don't know about the Brady Bunch? I find that very suprising. Anyway it was a sitcom from the 1960s about two partial families that came together to be one. There was Carol and her three girls (Marcia, Jan and Cindy) and Mike Brady with his three sons (Greg, Peter and Bobby) Mike and Carol got married so they ended up with one huge family. There was also a housekeeper named Alice. The Bradys = the best family ever.

The only episode I've saw in that first season so far is the one where Bobby and Jan get sick and Bobby gets a visit from Carol's family Dr. (a woman) and Jan gets Mike's on call Dr. (a man) and the "patients" freak out. Then of course there was the episode where Carol challenges Mike because the boys won't let the girls play with them in their clubhouse, pretty standard plot where Carol says girls deserve equal treatment and opportunities. The humor comes when Carol proposes a reversal (boys wanting to play in a girls clubhouse) and Mike replies...

"If my boys wanted to play in a girls clubhouse I'd check them into a psychiarist." (The irony was Reed was gay and probably would've been "evaluated" himself if he came out in that era. Not dissing Mike Brady and not a homophobe just making a point here.) The point is that these are two of the most liberal "envelope pushing" episodes of BB meaning that they catered to their audience mostly and then when times started to change they went fresh with the "shark jumping" Robbie Rist.

To "save face" the joke is Rist "killed the show." In fact, Reed was the one who got himself killed off in the actual ending show because he and Sherwood Shwartz (BB writer/procuder) hated each other and were constantly bickering about the show. What made the BBunch great was that it touched on the "big" (liberal) issues of the time while still remaining essentially wholesome amd lighthearted. It's sad that this show "folded" when it did because it easily could have endured to the late '70s
