@Darbyjack you can only hear the motor and snap, crackles and pops if your turntable and your records are cheap, mishandled pieces of sh*t.invest in some good quality, then take care of it.if you still love digital, you can have it,all of it.....picture discs aren't pressed for sound quality.
People listen to vinyl, because, along with the crackle pops, moder production also removes all the air, the space, form the place where it was recorded. Once on comparing a cd to an old vinyl, & I could hear the the room, the auditorium: i swear I could hear the pillars i n the rauditorium. It was a
Alive -- next best thing to Live...worth the pops.
@Darbyjack It deals with the way it's pressed into the vinyl. It's scientifically superior sound quality! This disc must be a little dusty or old, so you get the crackles, yeah. When you buy an album new or remastered, it's fucking unparalleled. I just bought Judas Priests first album remastered a few weeks ago and it is the best quality sound I have ever fucking heard on vinyl or otherwise, it is unreal how great it sounds..
It would have most likely have been remastered using digital software and equipment, resulting in the final product to have a sample-rate, making the vinyl version a bit meaningless, since it is reproducing something a CD can do, but not quite as good.
Valid point. When you listen to vinyl, there's a depth that is *not* there, that *cannot* be reproduced on any other medium. I mean I own more mp3s than anything else but I can tell the difference between a really good quality mp3 and a nice, clean record. That depth, that's what really sends it out of the park. It's this sense of soul, you know? It's warmer. Also, by default, analog allows you to do a lot more faithful to the original recording(except for deep deep bass sometimes)
Yeah but the audio from YouTube is always at a compressed bit-rate. On top of that, the audio is sampled at 44Khz, meaning it's impossible to get that true wave sound from your vinyl.
ahha im 20 years old and this is my faverite band every album they made and lots of unrealsed albums iv found to if you want help i can tell you the file to download th unrealsed albums and also its nice to know people my age like this music i love pink floyd my faverite band i like zepplin beatles jefferson airplane why cant everyoen lov eit also but thnx for you the ones who know the truth
a picture disc? Just have a look at the video! It is a vinyl record which isn't black. It has, as the name says, a picture on it. They are often very rare. Normally they are 180 gram vinyl.
I own this on vinyl as well. I however own the original print, off the shelves in 1968, the one in mono. I prefer it much more. Mine doesn't have the awesome picture on it like yours.
I've got a CD Collector's edition with stereo and mono. I'm looking for the LP now, but in the stores you only fin the stereo, but I think the mono is the true original. Don't know who had the idea to put this crazy effect at the end of Interstellar Overdrive.
Roger showed a picture disk on a big screen the first time I saw him in concert. Think it was something to do with "Money" the track on "Dark Side Of The Moon" - mind you, arn't most things (to do with money) in this world?!
I have the 40th Anniversary mixes. The mono mixes are the coolest thing ever. You get to hear things that aren't on the stereo mix of the album. I would buy more vinyls of Floyd. I have The Wall, and a japanese bage transparent vinyl of A Saucer Full of Secrets. I got all these for 20 bucks a pop.
Thanks for sharing this with us. Used to take picture discs for granted, now i see some people have never seen one and I realise how long it's been. That and the Doors-ish hammond organ are really making me think I must be getting old.
Having "survivied" the '60s, during which I was a very curious teen, I am pleased as punch to have found all this stuff on Youtube. I like your stuff. It makes me grin from ear to ear.

Haha. I'm 13. I might take records too seriously, but it's definitely a better way to hear this kind of music, so I've got only records...
And hammonds kick ass. Farfisas are pretty nice too. Hooray.
