Yeh, even better lol. Vegas has everything you need to edit videos on this camcorder. The video, when you download it to your computer is bigger and will run smoother on Vegas than this youtubed video. In the long run you'll save money because you don't have to buy any tapes or battery.
I have a video filming inside Vatican Church (not much lighting inside) and at 2 am in the morning at the Vatican City... just look at my videos most of it is shot using my camcorder.

Cheers man, however the fact the camera has an active interface shoe on top, I don't see any reason why it would not support a Sony own brand mic.

It looks better with video editing software.. this is raw footage and youtubed. You need to buy Ulead Studio editing software it's like 50 bucks.
