@flipskater1528 normally push lawn mowers are "vertical" shafts from the factory,if you want a "horizontal" shaft motor like for a go-cart, you would have to find a "horizontal" shaft motor.
why you running on its side, if its a lawn mower, almost always runs rod down, otherwise oil mechanism wont work, causing lost of smoke and engine failure in the longrun
lol also other things such as powerwashers and stuff that use the same size engines, use horizontal shafts :P. so, since the float and stuff is positioned for that it works,otherwise it wouldnt.

i got exacle the same in a go kart...
lots of high perf parts to make it very hot..i heard u can take aboubt 10 hp..
put in some weels and have fun...
