As most people have said, it's not quite as good as the original score, but I kind of like it in a tempo kind of way.Having said that,I much prefer the original.

As for the film itself, it could have been much better had Wolfgang Petersen directed it, and the original cast and production team was kept as well.

This has more of the upbeat tone that was prevalent in many songs during the transition from 80's to 90's.

Even so, I did seek it out several years ago. But I still dislike The Next Chapter.

If only they could have made Bastian's journey to Fantasia (or Fantastica in the books) like Ende's story. There's so many other strange creatures and places that would have been great to see. Bastian could have had a monkey on his back!

I've never really liked this version to be honest. Theres a weird Lion King medeley in the beat, it reminds me of Pumbaa and fucking Timon. And then theres that weird eastern/indian twang every so often as well, that just doesnt fit. I'm all for putting various pieces together and bringing culture together, but.... nah, I like the original better. Theres just something in the melody of this one that doesnt fit. Guitar solo and then those... other sounds. Nah. Not for me.

Although I didn't care much for the movie "The Neverending Story II: The Next Chapter", I liked the snippet of the Joe Milner theme used briefly during the ending credits. It took me while to find the uncut version. I love both versions of this song. I put the original film's opening credits here to go with the Milner theme. Though I had to slow the video a bit in order to accomodate this full version of Milner's theme.
