I wish someone would actually look into Edie's death, I mean the Coroner's Report doesn't even have her correct birth date! It's all scratched thru & changed. The night she died her husband administered her prescription medication, & she had been drinking. Nothing unusual there. She could easily have died from lifelong anorexia. If her husband gave her her prescription meds as he did every night, why did she OD on them? How can it be from the alcohol, when she had done so much worse in the past?
Mary Polinori's Me Hago La Sessi Funny Style of Saying Aaah in one of her interviews. Edie is Marlits Burgos Kat Alano style in beauty, man, aaah. She's really beautiful ==tbc==....
@MowgliX I see it as the opposite, she overcame tremendous odds in her life, she was drugged as a child, many of the people around her had far worse drug problems (Nico was addicted to herion for 10 years), she grew up in a era famous for it's drugs. Her horrific childhood, losing 2 brothers in less than 2 years, Father was so mentally unstable he was advised to never have kids, he had 8, putting his wife's life in danger, to prove how VIRILE he was, I think she lived her life well, considering!
@jarileigh Yes, and God knows I love her, unconditionally. But everybody knew at the time that Edie was in deep trouble from the very start. She was talented, intelligent, rich, supremely beautiful, very charming and kind. But she was just born under a bad star, and she was aware of it herself. And it's evident even from the (uniquely beautiful) screen tests, shown above, that this wonderful girl was destined for disaster and an early death.
@MowgliX I agree totally, Edie herself said "About every 2 years I have a accident, and one day it won't be a accident" and other things that indicate she thought she would die young. I just think she did well with what she was given, and is proof that wealth, etc doesn't necessarily protect someone from the bad things in life! Her bad downward spiral of hospitalizations occured coinciding with the death of her Father, who she loved & hated, & not uncommon with abusers/victims.
@jarileigh Oh yeah, there might have been a correlation between the death of her father in October, 1967 and her worsening condition during the second half of 1967. Also, as I have written before: Something went wrong when Edie was in her early teens, around the time her grandfather, Henry Dwight "Babbo" Sedgwick, died in 1957. Now, Babbo was a great man, a very creative and very much alive person, and to see him die and go away like that must have been a shock to the young Edie.
@jarileigh The way I understand the part "and one day it won't be a accident" is that she meant that one day it would be a suicide, and not an accident. Or a fatal crash. But yes, either way, she somehow knew she would die before she was 30. Oh, and yes you're right: her wealth and fabulous connections in society had nothing to do with it, because all her friends deserted her. She was thrown away once they'd had their fun and used her up.
@MowgliX I think she just knew that she was living dangerously, when she walked away from that car accident (the cast on her leg) the photo in the paper was of the car and the caption said "How did 2 people walk away from this car?" Guess what? My daughter's having a baby! I just found out but can't tell anyone! Sorry for the random, had to get it out, I am SOOOOO excited!

She could have been a big star in Hollywood, but she chose to be a junkie and an early death.
