@EvilRakdos yeah, I realized that after I posted. I always get simple endings confused. German two is going to be hard. Do you know German grammar well? It seems like you need to know lots of grammar to write German correctly.

@snes317 Well, yes. Grammar is a important part of the german language.

Instead of "the" we use "der" (male), "die" (female) and "das" (neutrum). That´s just one example. Here´s another one: gift means in german "Geschenk" while "Gift" has the meaning of poison. You should watch out for the familar words because they often have a different meaning in german. I hope i wasn´t writing much. ^^

To me, it sounds like they're saying that the belief in god is harmful. Gods are for animals who betray themselves. When we lie to ourselves, we betray our true nature by hindering our desire.

What's wrong with enjoying something not in your own language? I don't have to speak German to enjoy the music. That's sort of a rude thing to say.."Keep German things German".

There's nothing wrong with sharing your music with people who don't know the language. And if you'll notice, there are english translations on this video, I assume for people who don't know German in the first place.

There's no need to be selective in who can comment and in what language.

Well, it is about how humans invented god. You need atheism as premise, even the song is not about atheism.

Besides the translation is not accurate, so maybe you get it wrong. For example it actual says: "If you want to be a human and no animal, put god into your territory. So being a human will be the gallow - animals dont need a god."

That has a different meaning than the not accurate translation in the video.

Agnostic, I believe. So goes the story anyway... depends how much you believe what you hear :) Chances are though that it is more a social commentary (if anything more than just a song at all) than a religious anthem for them. Regardless, *great* song!
