  • Am so sorry to read that Rose passed away during the summer---now, only Peppy is left, G-d bless her. My deepest sympathy to the whole family on Rose's death; my prayers are with you.

  • Are the remaining two sisters still living? I know the one sister passed right after the film was made, unfortunately. Is Peppy still pepping along? I hope so, God love her.

  • I am sitting here in tears just after watching the whole program on PBS and loving every minute of it. I've known wonderful warm women like this in my long life. They are the treasures of Jewish families. May the next generations follow in their footsteps.

  • I happened upon the entire program early this morning, when I could not sleep. I loved every minute of it; I miss my Jewish neighbors in Levittown, PA!

  • I saw the whole video on WETA. It is precious-even their visit to the Kosher butcher! This short YouTube video is just a small taste of the whole video.

  • The Pepsi bottle on the table adds a charming ambience to the decor...LOL!

  • A gem of a clip. A gem I tell you.

  • Is gefilte fish from real fishes?

Are lobster and fishes kosher in jewish kitchen?

  • Lobster, no, it's not kosher. Fish, depends on the variety. In the broadest sense, they need visible, easily removable scales to be kosher, but it's actually more complicated than that (of course). And yeah, gefilte fish is made from real fish.

  • Dang! I wish I got to celebrate with you guys...

  • Beautiful matza ball soup! Just like my mom's.

  • "I think there's too much salt! No? Then what was the pint of tasting it!?" Hillarious!
